Whats involved in changing out the prop shaft seal in a 06 Sanger V215. I think mine has started to leak. Will be pulling it up on the trailer to check it out tomorrow.

They are supposed to leak some. 10 drops a minute or something like that. You can adjust them as well. If you don't have the dripless packing, it's normal.

Try to adjust it. Maybe it's 10 drops every 30 seconds, I for get now. Something like that.

Ian, mine is an '06 with over 300 hours and I adjusted mine for the first time this summer. It makes a big difference. I had it a bit too tight and had to loosen it a smidge to get enough drip. I wanted to in '09 but I did not have the wrenches. The nut was a 2" and the lock nut was 1-7/8". Or at least those are the wrenches I used. You could but one combination open end wrench and cut the middle out of it. It's pretty quick to do.
I think 10 drips per minute is not a big deal. Mine was maybe 35 before I tightened it. It might have been 5/min. when I was done.

I just adjusted mine for the first time at 490 hours. Mine looked like a 5 year old boy peeing off the side of the boat. I cut off the safety wiring, broke free the jam nut, turned the adjusting nut one full turn. Then tightened it all up. Now it is sweet. I put back the safety wiring but I am not really sure I need it.

My Sanger dealer/shop told me 10 drops per minute.

Art did you remove/replace the safety wire?
