weight an 03 SAN

looking for the sweet spot as far as weighting goes, how much in the front how much in the back ect.......

I have the 2002 SAN Team Edition so the ballast layout maybe a little different that yours, but this is what im running.

full factory hard tanks in the rear: 260lbs each
full center hard tank (where your ski locker is if you have the non-team edition): 300lbs
fly high wedges on top of the rear hard tanks: 400lbs each
400lb sac in the bow

total weight: 2,020lbs
speed: 24mph
rope length: 80'

Same setup here but a 1000lb bow sac and 200lb of lead moved around depending on situation.

I have the 1,000lb bow sac as well, but found that unless you have more weight than what i have in the rear it's more of a hassle than anything. The nose dips so easy with that big bow sac even 3/4 full.

i think it's the same wave with the 400 up front and it gives some extra room to squeeze somebody in up there with the bag, if needed.

I my experience SAN's always like more weight in the nose, it really clears up their wake.

Nauti has the right idea as far as ratio, though I'd subtract about 10-20% off those weight totals. IMO, can't go off the max capacity for sacs/tanks. I'd say that's especially true if you're dumping the nose with the triangle sac (too nose heavy because you don't have 660 in each ski locker). I'd do a search, as I'm pretty sure this has been discussed a bunch. I like a 60 (back)/40(front)-ish ratio, with "front" counting as the ski locker (you can get a lot of weight in there without the tank) forward. That's for a fully-loaded boat with 2000+ pounds. I like a bit more back heavy (steeper wake) if I'm riding light.

^agreed, just trying to give the guy a size bag to work with. Lead is always a plus to have on the boat as well.

I run 750's in the rear lockers, I had a custom sac made for my ski locker which takes up the whole thing (around 800lbs), and the integrated bow sac under the seats in the nose. If we really want it big I throw a 400 on the floor in the cabin (long ways against the back seat) and a 400 sideways in the nose.

I ripped the tanks out and put 750s(2) in the rear a 1000 lb supra center locker sack in the ski locker a 650lb integrated bow sack and another 400 in the bow. Wake is nasty and has so much kick. I would say I'm running about 3000lbs because everything doesn't fill completely.

I guess I have the same setup as Seth plus the nose sack which the boat needs to plane, otherwise need to drain some out the back. I only have the factory 18 pitch prop tho so it's pretty impressive it can even get up.

our 95 supersport (same hull)

1000 lbs rear - 500 on each side of the engine
750 lbs in the locker
700 lbs under the bow

... usually ride with 4/5 in the boat so thats another 600-800 lbs. Nice and big and with that much mid/bow weight the lip is a little more mellow than a usual SAN wake

.... and usually like 80ft. @ 24ish mph (depends wind and if I'm learning new stuff - then its short/slower)

Dude Mason get yourself a new prop!!! It will be like a whole new boat with a ACME 1236 or 1464

I found too much weight in the bow makes the wake have a huge trough. I have the 1000 lb bow sac and don't fill it more than 700-800 lb. The 210 wake is steep, there is nothing you can do to change that, and in my experience adding too much weight to the bow makes the wake smaller and more dramatic.

I don't really need one man the wake is massive as is and fuel consumption is great as is since my rpms only run like 3100@23.5 mph. Seriously one of my friends that used to ride the tour rides it often and I have seen 9s both ways and just about every mobe throw off the wake. I may look into one next year but I'm considering upgrading to a new boat since I'm getting married and the wife makes good money
