I'm looking at a 2003 MC X2 options include:

310HP Predator TBI
Bimini
factory tower speakers
single axle trailer
perfect pass
factory ballast
350 hrs
Vinyl is clean and in good condition.

How much is she worth?

Around $28-$30K probably off the top of my head. Depends on options and single axle trailer is probably not the most desirable.

I got 26,500 on NADA by adding all options listed above plus boat cover, teak swim platform, tower, and racks. How did you get 29,500?

NADA means nothing. That is for the banks to use for loan value. Each individual market depicts how much a boat is worth.

I agree Seth.....So what do you think its worth?

Well we have a 03 X2 with 350 hp and 427 hrs. for $32k, so i would say its in between $28k-$30k like diggs said.

Sounds dead on to me. I sold my '05 back in '07 for $35k with 250 hours and the MCX motor.

03-04 are bad years for MC vinyl. It may be clean and good now, but give it a year or two. Check the seams very well. Look for splitting.

MC replaced the vinyl a couple years ago.

Yeah NADA means nothing especially now. Have to look at the market and what people are actually selling them for. If you are comfortable with the $26500 that NADA says then make the offer. I would say that is a good deal on it if they will sell it for that. Buyers like to think that boat prices are down and in the tubes right now, but that is not the case. Used boats are going for big money right now. Used cars are also.

Let's cut to the chase. What is the boat listed for?

It's not this one. Check out the vinyl:

I'd say low 30's here in MN, more demand keeps our prices high.

My homie has a super clean Xstar for sale, it's super clean, no issues and a wake that crushes the X2's. I've been around the boat for a lotta years and know the history well. PM me and I'll get you his contact info if you want.

Thats the one

I would say it is priced fair. All really depends on condition. Beat him up and bit for having single axle trailer and see if he will do better, but you can be confident you are not getting ripped off.

Seems fair to me. Maybe try to talk him down ~1,500 to see his reaction. Boat looks like it is in good shape.

Jason, for some reason I can't figure out how to send a PM (I know, I know) but can you shoot me the listing for your buddy's x-star? Got a good friend in the market.
Thanks!

I paid just under $30k for my 03 X2 on a single axle with the rtp-1 and 500hrs a couple of months ago. I also drove 600 miles each way to get it. No tower speakers on mine when I bought it. It had a bow sack, and all of the vinyl on mine had been replaced except the engine cover, which will have to be replaced this winter. I looked for several months for a 2001-2002 xstar or 2003-2005 x2. The ones worth having seem to go quickly. In the $25k-$35k range for wakeboard specific boats, there aren't that many options, and it seems like a lot of people are buying. Seems like a fair price for that boat. Good luck.

Struck a deal at $28k. Going to pick it up in a few days!

Sure did Bruce! Not as clean and well appointed as yours is I'm sure, but I can't wait to make it mine! Gotta keep it clean....even if it isn't all white I'll post some pics after I put some personal touches on it. You still thinking about trading up? It's a shame we couldn't have timed it better.

Nah, I'm happy for now. Just splashed her for the first time this season and turned 152 hours. I can't justify trading up right now and although I wish it was a little bigger, or a little newer, I've been very happy with my current. I too wish the timing was better, your last boat was exactly what I'd want. I wish you the best with the new ride and cheers to a great season! Post up some pics when you get her home and dialed in.

Well, that went over like a lead balloon! It never ceases to amaze me what people consider "excellent condition"! Here is a list of all the things that I found wrong with it:

Trailer; heavy rust, hubs leaking and questionable brakes.
Gelcoat - Several chips and stress cracks
Stereo - Pyle speakers and headunit! Tower speakers not functional
Tachometer discounnected to run perfect pass, no verification of hours
Missing bow area carpet and other carpet needs replaced
Mildew on seats
Teak Platform in rough shape
Board Rack fingers missing some of the rubber
No maintence records

The guy would not come off of $28,000 despite all of these issues. So it was a wasted trip but I'm confident I made the right decision. For anyone looking at this boat, beware!

LAME! sorry to hear that....hope you didn't have to drive too far only to be that disappointed. The right boat will come along soon. You didn't want a blue gel with a single axle anyway! Go Pyle!

Unfortunately it was 8 hours...one way! I was totally pissed that he made this boat out to be something its not. At this point I am not anxious to buy anything, as I know good deals will be few and far between this year and thankfully I have friends I can go out with.

Bruce, if you ever decide to sell yours let me know!
