Hi,
I have a 2016 axis a20 and was looking to get a lightbar. I was woundering if it would fit with my 2 pairs of tower speakers. If so what size light bar should i get to surf at night and what brand should i go with. Also how would I attach the light bar to my tower?

Thanks

Light bars are useless especially mounted up high. Yes, you light up the wave but you are blinding the rider at the same time. Either transom lights or if you wanted to mod a location on the back locker area that pointed the light down towards the wave that may work. Make it something that can be removed when not surfing illegally at night.

do you want to point it forwards to light up the way for the driver or backwards to light up the wave for the rider?

Pointing forwards, probably works great. Measure the distance between your speaker cans and get that length....

Pointing backwards, probably gonna blind the rider, get underwater lights

X3 on blinding the rider. Even the cheapo led bars are extremely bright. Light mounted on the back locker could work. Maybe two flush mount marine led pods? Either that or the brightest transoms lights you can find

Pointing forward doesn't always work that well either. It will most likely just light up the front of the boat making it hard to see what's out past it, at least that's the experience I had with forward facing tower lights. Not to mention, they're illegal to run while under way in most states. In VA even docking lights are illegal unless you're in a no wake zone.

I'm going to disagree, do any of the guys saying no rear facing tower lights actually have them? We run a Roswell 6 light bar and can turn them forward, down, backward, wherever and they're super nice for coming into the dock late and also useful for surfing at night and cleaning the boat up in the dark. How often are you staring at the tower while you're surfing? Yeah they're bright if you're going to stare right into them but we're able to surf just fine with the lights pointing down into the wake and into the boat. Lights everything up really well.

That said, surfing at night and having bright tower lights on at night is not going to get smiles from lake cops. I live on a very quiet, small lake without much regulation and no enforcement.

The roswell bar comes in a 2,3,4 and 6 light setup too and mounts with clamps. https://roswellmarine.com/boatlighting.php
