I keep seeing different topics pop up about some folks winter projects.

I was wondering what winter projects most of you guys have planned this winter. Stereo upgrades, tower upgrades, ballast upgrades, general maintenance, engine upgrades, stripper pole installs, etc...

So, what all do you guys plan on working on this winter? Secondly, do you think it will actually get done, or is your winter project list like mine and is at the bottom of a long list of projects the wife wants done (which of course have priority, unfortunately).

I will start:
#1 - Rewire my lighting (currently have all lights on one switch (from factory)). Want to put additional switches to break the lights out so one switch for each of the following (transom lights, mooring lights, interior LED lights)

#2 - Put some kind of ballast in the bow (about 400lb to help round out the current 1800lb ballast system I already have). May go with sacs and a pump, or just do some lead or something of that nature. Must be hidden under seats though.

#3 - Attach a new set of wake/surf racks.

#4 - Add additional set of tower speakers (and maybe a few tweaks to the stereo as needed)...though, with my first baby on the way, this is one that will be hard to get approved since the boat is already louder than the wife wants it to be.

#5 - The painful Project - Continue to pay the loan for the boat that is sitting in my garage and not being used....

So, what do you all have...

#1 - replace and glass stringers
#2 - pour expanding foam into the hull
#3 - install ski pylon

Worth noting this is all on a '75 Glastron tri-hull outboard.

Let's see...here is my "list"
1. Change plug wires, plugs, dist. cap, and fuel filter.

2. Upgrade prop.

3. Install tower lights that I ran the wires for last season.

4. Upgrade ballast pumps

That should do it for now...I feel you on the hurt on having a boat sitting there not being used over the winter.

1. Fresh vinyl skins on rear seats
2. New steering cable - not looking forward to this one
3. Ususal spring prep, but going to a Globe Blue impeller this time around

Thinking about rhino lining teak platform, but am not 100% committed yet.

Finishing the basement comes 1st but its too cold in the winter to work on the boat anyways so that's ok. Early spring I'll be...

Plumbing in sacs in rear compartments.

Prop upgrade

Building new amp rack and moving batteries to clean it up

Acquiring lead/steel/sand for movable permanent storage in the bow

I always have too many projects going on, my wife loves it! Every time I go to her and say "Hun, what do you think about this?". She just rolls her eyes! No else has this problem right?
:-)

Where's the garage thread that was on here a long time ago? I'm helping my dad build a new garage and we were thinking of cool things we would like to put in the new garage. We plan on starting back up with it when the weather gets in the mid 30's or 40's, you know, tolerable work weather.
