Wow. I have this same handle but have only rode it a couple times now. Hopefully I have better luck. Definitely hit up Hyperlite's customer service department. I'm sure they will take care of it.

I had the Murray handle break in 3 pieces. the two ends of the bar ripped out where the rope goes in. Took it in for warranty and the dealer showed me another just like it

I am surprised that Scheels took it back without question. A few years ago we had a handle that did not float, making it difficult for the rider to find for their next run. Brought it back asking for exchange, not refund and the manager argued with me stating that all the ski/wakeboard handles float. I explained that they "should float". She still did not want to exchange it. I politely asked her to get a bucket full of water and she would see just how well it floated. She agreed. I love Scheels, but have had challenges with returns/exchanges when the price tags are off. Glad to see that your store is taking care of you!

I've never had an issue with Scheels. sunglasses, snowboard bindings, snowboard boots (twice), and now this handle. I even got a $25 gift card because of the hassle I went through 2 winters ago with the boots coming apart. Scheels is great around here
