After weeks of rain, wind, snow, and freezing temps we're gonna get some nice weather.

Planning on heading to the lake on Friday, and then again Saturday for those of you who are interested.

Cliff, stop by the house on saturday. If you have room I would be interested if I don't get roped into a bunch of other stuff.

It is supposed to be really nice this weekend. Cliff is the only person I can think of who is crazy enough to throw himself into that water. I hope the nautique has a hot water shower. If you need someone to spot let me know but I don't think I will be riding until it gets a bit warmer.

today has been the best day so far. Not even a stitch of wind. I think the worst thing that screwed up the glass was a couple of duck wakes. Damn inconsiderate B@st@rds.

It looks like friday may get rained out but I want to see some pictures from saturday. What is the water temp right now anyway?
Old     (polarbill)      Join Date: Jun 2003       02-15-2008, 1:02 PM Reply
COLD. I jumped in last weekend after being in our hot tub and it sucked the breath out of my lungs.

Wussies

Water temp is sitting at a balmy 43 degrees.

I rode today, and it was awesome. Going again tomorrow, if your interested Brett / Robert.

Sorry I missed you guys out there. But my buddies woke up with their dresses on, so we didn't ride this morning.
Have fun tomorrow. I have a demo scheduled at 11am, maybe I will see you.

I am itching to try that new board of yours cliff but I think low 40s is a little too cold for my wussyness.

Yes he is. Something's not right with that boy. Troy and him each put in a set in 42 water and 48 air. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. They had an entire lake of glass to themselves.

Looks like you guys should have waited until sunday. It is pretty freakin sweet out there right now. It doesn't even look that cold if you don't look at the frost on the roofs.
How was the new board Cliff?

This thread is making me home sick. I miss lake sammamish! So do you guys actually toss on the dry suits and board this time of year up there? I grew up in Redmond but have been stuck in the desert for the last 11 years and miss seeing waterfront property and the color green.

Wow, I'd hate to be Brett Yates... have a lake house and all but water you can't ride... Hell at least you have a lake house !

Went out today, and it was fricken awesome. We were the only boat on the north end for over three hours.

Robert,

Your gonna like the valhalla. It's lose, very fast, and has great controlled pop. It's looser than the Cartel, and faster, but the pop is much more like Natural's. I liked it well enough that I'm going to move it to my #1 board for awhile.
Old     (jjakober)      Join Date: Apr 2002       02-17-2008, 5:17 PM Reply
Cliff,

Nice! I am glade you like the Valhalla. I haven't ridden the 08 version with the Delta V bottom. It sounds like it really helped speed the board up. You didn't ride it with any bolt on fins did you(center or crook)?

I saw your boat out there this afternoon Cliff. It looked pretty darn sweet out there. I was tempted to give you a call and try to get a ride but I think I am going to wait until the water is a little closer to 50. Sounds like that board is pretty sweet. Did you ride it with fins or without?
Old     (solo)      Join Date: Oct 2001       02-17-2008, 7:59 PM Reply
believe it or not I rode today in 45 degree water. Reminded me of riding back home.

No fins or crooks totally finless.

Seriously, it snowed last weekend up at lake Bartlett. Water temp was 45 air 68. Doesn't make me want to move back to the PNW.

Cliff you hated the cartel without the bolt on fins, how is it the valhalla is looser but you like it?
Old     (seattle)      Join Date: Mar 2002       02-18-2008, 11:21 AM Reply
Valhalla has the molded in fins much further out towards the edge of the board.

Notice how the fins are much larger on the inside than on the outside.

It's hard to explain, but the Valhalla is really loose when you want it to be but when you put it on edge it's very predictable and controlled.

Hahn,

You know your a cute little asian polar bear at heart. You may have left Seattle, but Seattle will never leave you.

Five of us went out on Goodwin yesterday (Sunday) the water was a nice cool 38-40 depending on the depth. We were wakesurfing but still at least we got out.
