After having sat for 5 years then being 3 different owners project boat, my tige 22i roared to life yesterday. 750 dollars and a carb swap later she runs quite well. I still have to to shake down many miss wires from previous owners, but at least it runs. I will have sea trials on tuesday.

People that treat boats like that should be shot.

Glad to see someone cares about bringing it back to life. Congrats.

Apparently the previous owner had more money that brains...

Nice that you brought her back to life so she will see water again!

there's something about the low freeboard tige's that make 'em sexy. don't worry about taking on water, just drive it right. good luck on your maiden voyage. is that tower parts on the floor?

MC: tristar 220. She'll kick down 300 horsies in a few weeks!

heads with a little port work, custom camshaft, a better intake. not sure which intake yet. should get to 300 without much problem.

Old     (olskooltige)      Join Date: Mar 2007       03-10-2008, 10:41 AM Reply
I have a 600cfm and went to an 80 jet to keep my plugs cool. 97 Tige sbc. Stock was 70, or that's what was in mine anyway.

i bought a 750 but i think it will be to big

A 750cfm carb is way too big for all but the most aggressive small blocks (ie: Racing, drag, etc.). The motor won't be able to draw enough air to compensate and it will simply flood no matter how much you play with the jetting. Take it back and get a 600cfm (holley) or 625cfm (carter/weber) and it'll work perfectly.
