Stuck float on bilge pump?

I have a 97 Calabria Laguna that the bilge stopped working (in the auto mode). It works fine manually. Not sure if it's a stuck float or something else. It's just south of ski locker and a bear to get to, any suggestions, or possible solutions?

Make sure pump's continuous 12v feed is connected to the battery, and you have 12v's at the pump. If so, fill the bilge with plenty of water to ensure it should come on, then smack it with the butt end of a screwdriver. If it comes on, you know the float was stuck and you may want to think about replacing. If it doesn't kick on, looks like you need a new pump.

Got a flashlight popped off cover and it was full of goop, Laguna's run low in the front and so my ski locker carpet was always wet, so at the beginning of last year I pulled out carpet, (it was already bubbling up), and so all the latex glue that was under carpet was loosened and floated to pump and gummed it up. I cleaned it up and now works like a champ. Thanks TigeMike, when I tapped it with screw driver it popped the cover off to expose goop.
