I was at the movie theatre today and saw a commercial for Vault Energy Drink. I was laughing my ass off. Anyone else see this? The commercial takes place at a wakeboarding competition and this guy does a HS 540. When they go to the instant replay in slow mo, you can see him grab a fish during the spin which they called a "rainbow trout grab". After he lands the trick, he rescues a chihuahua from the jaws of an alligator.
There were obviously no other wakeboarders in the audience because I was the only one laughing. I couldn't find the commercial online, maybe someone else has it.

It was a Regal Theatre. I was watching Traitor, and my kids saw it too when they were watching the Clone Wars. I saw Tropic Thunder last week at the same theatre and didn't see the commercial then. It must be new.

What you all saw was my HOMIE Colin Ryan Riding! Sounds like Colin had a ton of fun shooting the commercial. I guess the only down fall was having to do the same trick 10,000 times in a row! It takes a lot of talent to do a HS 540 FISH Grab!

not sure, maybe OLN, it was cable. I was just flipping through, saw somebody wakeboarding and grab a dog or something and was like, "Hey, I know that guy from WW!"

on the website, the vault channel guys, I am pretty sure the guy on the right is Brian from Office Space, the waiter at Chotchkies with all the pieces of flair.

Does anybody know who that rider is? They were out at Brostock auditioning riders for the commercial. I know that Chris Williams was one of the guys trying out for it, but that's obviously not him. He actually looks like the guy that was auditioning on the houseboat next to ours, but I don't know his name.

They called me for the commercial and I thought It was one of my homies messing with me so i never called back! After brostock Colin is Like, "DUDE I AM GOING TO BE IN A VALUT COMMERCIAL!!!!!!!!" My Response was "F"!

I saw it on Sunday on TV, I can't for the life of me remember what show it was on. I think I was clicking through and saw a boat go by and came back. Pretty funny stuff. I was watching football but I don't think it was on one of the games.

Not sure if that is the guy from Office Space or not, but DAMN he is just as annoying.
Commercial was pretty funny and cool - kind of a comic novelty for a wakeboarder to watch.
Some of the other stuff on the site made wakeboarding and wakeboarders look like a bunch of dumba$$es, though. Maybe that's what they were going for, but I thought it was lame. If I had a pre-disposed stereotype of wakeboarders being losers, this content would definitely substantiate it.

The info about the audition for this commercial was posted on Wakeworld under industry jobs. Both the Vault guy and the "Dew" guy are midwest riders.

Good to see colin getting some much deserved props.....that commercial is classic. Woulda been cool to see nintzel in there as "tommy T" much more believable in my opinion. haha

The commercial shoot was an all around good time. Great people were involved. Check out the interview about the shoot on wakeboardingmag.com. I just saw the commercial for the first time yesterday. Turned out pretty funny. Just remember it is not trying to rip on wakeboarding. It is trying to promote vault and make fun of mtn dew and the dew dude. It is a made for tv and theatre comedy.
