Anyone see or know of any issues or problems of running a Kinetik and a standard lead acid battery off the alt, through an Iso/combiner?

Anyone running this setup and are you seeing any problems with under/over charged batteries.

Thanks.

The only thing I have heard is that a Kinetik is not a good starting battery and can reduce the life of the battery. I have no idea if that is true? Anyone else? I have heard great things about them for running your system though.

I just had one of the Kinetik HC2400's installed yesterday to run my system, put with a relay and a regular lead acid starting battery. I also had a transom remote installed and I don't think it's installed to low. I have posted for some help on it so if someone can give me some feedback I would really appreciate it. I'm all in a mess about it!!

Diggs,

I agree they are not suited for a starting battery.

Just to clarify for others, this Kinetik will be for the stereo only, but will need to be charged by the alternator. Because the owner does not have access to power at storage lot, an on-board charger is not an option.

I use an HC 1800 for my starting battery and stereo and do not have any problems what so ever. I used it all last summer and it was as strong as can be on every start-up.

It is not that it is not stong enough. I just heard that it will be hard on the battery and cut your battery life in half. I heard this is the reason Kinetic has a shorter warranty too.
As you can tell this is all hearsay... just waiting for someone that knows more about them to confirm...

Kinetik batteries have a shorter warranty because they are manufactured in China and marketed in the US as a specialized battery for audio application. In China, quantity matters, price matters, quality is last. I called Eric at Kinetik to find out who the manufacturer is and he would not tell me other than it's imported and manufactured in China. Since I work in the battery I asked him technical question concerning performance data or independant lab testing on the battery which is normal and he would not supply the info nor answer generic info.....which is posted on any battery manufacturers website (a reputable one). He did tell me they were made in China. So save you money and buy something else. You'll get a better battery at Wal-mart.

Just to give you an idea on price, last month I was in China visiting a certain US manufacturer's plant. Without giving too many details, the US company had just recently started importing a popular US made battery into China. This battery has differn't colored tops and is popular with people on this site. To date, after 4 months they have only sold 10 across the whole country. Reason is price....not performance.
