I had no clue it even snowed in TX
Old     (bird_dog0347)      Join Date: Feb 2006       03-03-2008, 5:52 PM Reply
It snows all the time up in the pan-handle (Amarillo) but only about once a year here in DFW. Even then it is mostly sleet or ice, rarely is it snow.

like they always say here in texas, if you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes it will change

yeah yesterday it was 75 and sunny at 6pm and at 7pm it was about 40 with a 15 degree windchill and we woke up this morning with snow!

It also happened here in Colorado, 72 degrees on Saturday and then yesterday woke up to 25 degrees and blowing snow. I think they say that every where about waiting ten minutes

dubbe, come on down in a month or so, it will be the time of year that we get our daily tornado warnings! which is always fun

i love getting kicked off the lake bc of tornadoes \...it happened like 3 times last summer!
Old     (hype29)      Join Date: Feb 2007       03-03-2008, 7:36 PM Reply
that does sound like fun. We don't have to worry tornados here, but we do have to worry about lighting. 2 years ago a guy was killed by lighting while we were on the lake

Also, there was a tornado watch for most of north Texas in the first part of the day. Not often that there's a tornado watch and 80% chance of snow in the same day!

Trust me, thats not just a Texas thing.

I was wearing flip flops and shorts yesterday, and right now I'm waiting on one of my friends to get here so we can go snowboarding in my yard after a freak snow fall.

Arkansas has the weirdest weather ever.

That is the same storm that rolled through here last night I am sure... We got snow dumped on us, that never happens.

wow...I feel horrible for you having to wait a day or two to ride. Must be rough. Talk to me when you're above 6' for the last two months and your lake won't be thawing out for another month or two.

I have no sympathy for you guys.

its a touchy subject living where our lakes freeze so solid you can drive onthem for months at a time. I dont have a clue how people farther north handle life.
Old     (joshbuzz)      Join Date: Sep 2007       03-04-2008, 8:26 PM Reply
haha, I can imagine.

I've lived in a few different countries, and states(Saudi, Abu Dhabi, Trinidad, Texas, and Cali), but never had to deal with any of our water freezing over. I don't know what I'd do with myself.

Yea, it was snowing really bad this morning in East Texas. The snow is still on the ground and roofs, but it's not coming down anymore.

Yeah, yesterday it started snowing around 2pm and did not let up until about 7 or 8 last night. We got a ton of snow yesterday. I will post pics after I get new batteries in my camera. I heard that this was the first time since the mid 1960's that we had two snow falls in the same month here in north Texas.

Ok guys, the title of this thread is "Only in TEXAS"!!! By posting evidence of the same thing happening in other states, you are completely undermining the basis of this thread!

;)

Oh well, I guess other states just use photoshop so they can seem as cool as us Texans.

Texans ARE the coolest. End of story, that's just how it is.

grosssss. I have a friend in Ohio that told me yall got dumped on. Whats crazy is that two days after our first big snow in NINE years, it is now 75 degrees and we're playing volleyball again. One snow day was fun, but its about all I need until I go somewhere that i expect to get snow, like Colorado. The last time Louisiana had a snow like that was during the Independence Bowl in 99.
