Is there really a big difference in the type of rope I buy. I've always just bought a non stretch one, but have been looking for new ones?

Most are coated these days but I actually prefer the noncoated lines because when you get a knot in the coated lines the coating breaks and after a season or so you have a bunch of breaks. It doesn't impact the line at all but it looks gnarly and doesn't feel as good sliding through your hands.

seems like ropes just don't hold up the way they used too... Probably sound like an old person now...

the flat ones are kinda cool and the coating seems more embedded than the round lines. but yea just get whatever non-stretch floats your boat.

so instead of buying a 160$ ronix, i could get similar as to a 120$ straight line and pretty much the same
