I was wondering if these boards are drastically different for wake riding only. I currently have a 2009 Watson 138 (current Classic) shape and my 2006 Watson Bindings finally fell apart last weekend (sole ripped in half near the base plate)....found a good deal on new a 2011 Hybrid 139/2010 Watson Binding combo, so wondering if the hybrid will ride any different behind the boat. I love my 2009 Watson 138, the only thing I would trade it for is something that rides similar that is lighter...so wondering if that's the Hybrid or not. Also, I do not want to sacrifice any pop as I stay pretty much on stock wake.

In summary, will/does the Hybrid pop as well (or better) than the classic shape and is it noticeably lighter? Any disadvantages to going from a Classic to a Hybrid? I will not be riding any rails or cable, so sliding it is irrelevant. I also keep it in a board bag or board rack, so I'm not too concerned with durability. Thank you in advance for the help.

I have both however hadnt spent too much time on them yet and they do ride differently w/ edging, landing and the hybrid is def lighter and has a very loose feel vs the classic.

When I move to Charlotte we should hook up and ride. Also be careful with the 10' watsons, I hear theyre known to have the air pockets take on water. I have the 11' watsons
