Just a quick tax question.

My wife and I got married in July, bought our house last February. Should we file separate but married or file together? Both of us typically use the free services to file online, would it be at all beneficial to use an accountant now? We don't have many deductions or other items to note on our taxes aside from the house, school loan interest, and my 401k.

Thank you.

9/10 times filling together is more beneficial. I'm a CPA, but don't do tax.

Use the free turbo tax online version and do it both ways ( filing seperate/together)

From your brief descriptions of what you deduct, you prolly dont' need a CPA. Turbo tax can walk you thru everything.

Thanks, I kind of figured the CPA might be overboard for the time being. We are pretty basic so far.
