Tired of California looking at options

I will probably do nothing but I am getting really tired of California. Traffic, cost, politics and now they are talking about draining my home lake again (Tulloch). I am sure I will just continue to bitch and do nothing but I would love to hear about other options out there.

I have small children so I need to have good schools.

Would like a small town feels
