Has anyone ever had their water puppy stop working?
I don't think its the impellar 'cause it still looked pretty good and It wasn't jammed.

It was pumping fine and then I heard it sound like it was starting to struggle... It sounded like it was speeding up then slowing down then speeding up then slowing down and gradually the slowing down lasted longer than the speeding up and it stopped. Now it will turn on briefly and slowly and then stop.

I pulled it out and the motor smelled like burnt electronics.

Can they be repaired? (probably not worth it)

Should I replace it with something other than a reversible water puppy? (two omni-directional pumps, some other brand)

What do you think?

I have a Ballast Puppy that I was selling on eBay and the buyer had to back out on me. It is used, but I am not going to use it with my ballast set up. PM me if you want to buy it.

Ours did stop working, but it's more likely due to crappy wiring (it was installed for us and hooked into the existing wiring which sucks, changes gauge all over the place and has terrible joins, but I still haven't organised to take it back to have it fixed or fixed it myself, really should rewire everything I guess) and there's no burning smell.

It worked in both directions to start with, then only pumped out, then gave up completely.

Sounds like the motor has burned out in yours though.
