pickle fork boats

Are pickle fork boats quicker out if the hole than regular pointed nose boats?

For the most part the running surfaces are the same. So no. Salesman tell you that???

Could be quicker as it has 2 points to split the atmosphere with as opposed to 1!

thanks it just got me thinking because a wakeboard gets out of the water quicker than a single ski.

Wakeboard gets out of the water faster because it has way more surface area than a single slalom ski. A Pickle fork boat does not have way more wetted surface than a standard V. They are very similar in most cases.

The practical use of the picklefork is to create more bow seating. Squares seat more than triangles. I doubt it has much if any effect on hole shot.

So perhaps it depends on how may people are seated comfortably up front. I know in a good sea they can take one hell of a chili dip.

I actually think a pickle fork in general might be able to get on plane quicker but it has nothing to do with the running surface. I think it might have to do with more weight in just the tip that a similar hull traditional bow.
