That was at the H-Town Showdown this weekend. It was a nice looking boat. I didnt notice anything odd though. It did have 8 JL Audio Tower speakers across the transom that was pretty cool though.

Why would they beach an inboard? Do Epics not have skegs underneath the boat? I'm sure the motor will enjoy the sediment that will get sucked up through the raw water intake when they start it up.

Yeah that is the new 21v. Pretty much the same as the 23v as far as ballast and everything else goes just a tad shorter for lakes with a 21' restriction. Also runs a PCM EX343 instead of the Merc 8.1.

nice boat just can't get over how ugly the front of the boats are.

Actually they had a SAN230 beached right on the other side of that little dock and later on in the day they beached a Supra and a Centurion in the same spots.
I kinda wondered the same thing though. I couldnt believe they ran those nice new boats all on the sand.

nah dont worry about the beach part. that shoreline was so steep the water got about waist deep at the rear of the tower and theres no under the boat business until after that.
This was at M2's lake on the east side of Houston, great place to hold a tournament and for training

Nothing wrong with beaching an inboard, just make sure that you check the water depth before hand and make sure there are no rocks in the sand.

Very common to see beached boats along the Colorado River. I've done it for dozens of years, with no problems. Just make sure to push off, so the intake is in water, not the sand before starting up...

I beach my 23v every weekend. Just check the water depth. We push off, turn the boat around and walk it out to stomach deep, then start the boat and roll out. Beats 2 pointing any day!

That 21V throws a nice wake, it towed the expert division of HTown Showdown in Houston on M2's lake. Those guys were all happy with the wake and hole shot.

how much ballast does the 21 have?

i hear the 21v is going to have 3500lbs when they start sending them out... i heard nothing but great things about the wake from the guys that rode behind it in the comp! (it pulled the expert division)

Our local Epic dealer got a 21v in about a month ago.

A few differences I noticed right off-The 21v doesn't have the in-floor cooler like the 23v's or the full transom audio system.

It is very roomy inside for a 21' and is rated for 14 people like the 23v. I 'believe' the stock ballast is closer to 2,500lbs total. I have not ridin' behind it but have been told by a couple of buddies that demo'd it that the wakeboarding wake is exactly what you would expect from Epic, peaky, clean and lots of pop. As for the surfwake, those same couple of buddies had a hard time getting a good surf wake with the 'stock' ballast, however, they advised me more to come on that. I think I have some pics on my phone, I will check & post if I do.

There are two 21v's on boattrader.com right now listed at 52K. The Rep that had the 21v at the H-town showdown said he thought they would start around 49K and with go up with options, mainly stereo options. He also said they were going to have 3500 lbs of ballast when they start rolling off the line, but the one they had there only had 1200 lbs. I might be getting a pull from it this weekend.

Here is a link to one of them on boattrader.com

From one of the pics it looks like they might have the pure vert system for the ballast which would be awesome.

Scott,
Can you post some pics of your 2011 Epic 23V? I have a 2007 and love it. I know there were some changes from 2007 to 2008, but haven't seen anything significant since 08/09ish.

In the picture of the dash, you can see the Pure Vert Switches on the right of the steering wheel. Same ones that are in the MB. Light turns on when gates are open.
