WEC on the 10th live on Versus, UFC on the 11th live on Spike! Good stuff on both, highly recommended!

WEC 46 Card:

Ben Henderson vs. Jamie Varner (LW unification bout)
Raphael Assuncao vs. Urijah Faber
Dave Jansen vs. Kamal Shalorus
Mike Brown vs. Anthony Morrison
Mackens Semerzier vs. Deividas Taurosevicius

Akitoshi Tamura vs. Charlie Valencia
Bryan Caraway vs. Mark Hominick
Wagnney Fabiano vs. Clint Godfrey
George Roop vs. Eddie Wineland
Will Campuzano vs. Coty Wheeler

Varner vs. Henderson - This is a must see fight. Should be nothing short of exciting. Both are very very good wrestlers. Varner has an edge in the standup dept I think. Can't wait.

Assuncao vs. Faber - The return of Faber. Assuncao is no pushover. The winner of this fight could be Aldo's first title defense.

Brown vs. Morrison - Don't know much about Morrison, but feel sorry for him drawing Brown after losing his belt.

Semerzier vs. Taurosevicius - Good matchup between two well rounded fighters. Semerzier just coming off a shocking submission win over Fabiano.

Overall on this WEC card, there are 5 current, interim and former champs fighting. Great fighters to watch.

On to the UFC card scheduled for Monday the 11th Live on Spike:

Gray Maynard vs. Nate Diaz
Efrain Escudero vs. Evan Dunham
Tom Lawlor vs. Aaron Simpson
Amir Sadollah vs. Brad Blackburn

Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva
Rick Story vs. Jesse Lennox
Thiago Tavares vs. Nik Lentz
Mike Guymon vs. Rory MacDonald
Kyle Bradley vs. Rafael Dos Anjos
Gerald Harris vs. Mike Massenzio
Nick Catone vs. Jesse Forbes

Maynard vs. Diaz - Conventional thinking is if Maynard wins, he will very soon get a playdate with Penn. I love watching Diaz fight, but just don't see much of a way he can win this. Maynard is a Bully. Amazing power on not the best standup, but top notch wrestling. Diaz is probably more evenly well rounded, but again, tough to beat Maynard.

Escudero vs. Dunham - Both these guys are undefeated. Both have shown a lot in their brief UFC careers. I can't wait to see this fight, probably the one I'm most excited about & I sense an upset.

Lawlor vs. Simpson - Great middle tier middleweight matchup! Simpson is undefeated, great wrestler & good power. Lawlor is well rounded and, well, crazy. Another exciting fight, but I look for Simpson to take it.

Sadollah vs. Blackburn - Amir coming off his victory over Baroni...Blackburn is 3-0 in his UFC career and a very good test for Sadollah. Pick em.

Funny to see Leben on the unaired portion of a Fight Night card. Very interesting.

Nobody is interested in these cards?

I am very interested in the WEC card. I'm bummed that we can't be there in person.

I'd like to see Varner win, as I'd like to see a rematch title fight with Cerrone. Of course, I'd also really like to see Urijah Faber win. :-)

I don't like the Diaz brothers in general, so I guess I'd rather see him lose. I don't care one way or another about the rest.

I knew you'd be interested in the return of Urijah!!

I'm so predictable! He's just downright fun to watch and always puts on a great show.

I'm bummed that Direct TV dropped Versus...no WEC for me, so I've kind of lost interest, but casually stay in tuned via the internets.

I like the Fight Night Card, though. Glad it's gonna be free and on a weeknight.

I have no real favorites on the card, but I really like Maynard and want to see him fight Penn this year.

I think Nathans stand up is far superior than Grays and as long he has dominant position on the ground he has a good chance. He does best when people actually try to fight him unlike Clay Guida who held on to him for three rounds. 209 all the way.

Uriah is a great role model for the sport but after seeing the domination of Jose Aldo in the 145 division I dont think anyone in the WEC stands a chance. I would love for Aldo to jump up to 155 and step into the octagon.

Both cards are gonna put on great shows

Maynard's gonna do the same thing Guida did. But Maynard has much much more power, so if he connects it will be a different story.

WOW....maybe the best Faber I've ever seen. Awesome. Can't wait to see him and Aldo fight.

So glad Varner got beat...What an a$$ clown after...Pulled a Tito for sure!

Faber looked like he has calmed down some in the cage and I think that makes him better.

I want to see Cerrone/Varner 2

Varner is a classless tool. As much as I would have liked to see a rematch with Cerrone.. I'm glad he lost.

Good to see Faber back in fighting form. Nice finish.

Yeah, he came to grapple, I came to fight.....thats why I got caught in a guillotine while I WAS GOING FOR A TAKEDOWN.

I say let Cerrone beat Varner in a 3 rounder, then rematch with Henderson.

Faber's finish just blew me away. Soooooo quick and locked in, Assuncao had no idea what hit him. And Assuncao is an amazing fighter.

Certainly was a night of comeback fights, I was a little shocked that Brown, Varner and Faber all had tough fights coming off extended time out of the ring. I was shocked that Faber choked out a top five BJJ champ, impressive, although I thought he showed more ring rust than the rest.

WOW....that Lawlor vs. Simpson fight was nice. I thought Lawlor won, but that second round could have gone either way. Great fight for sure.

Didn't I pick Dunham to win? YES. Tap or snap. Your opponents HAVE to know that if you don't tap, it will snap.

All good fights, except for the main event snoozefest.

Here are the bonuses:

Lawlor & Simpson = $30k each for FIGHT of the night
Dunham = $30K for SUB of the night
Harris = $30k for KO of the night.

I'm sure Spike will replay it at some point. The first three fights were very entertaining at the very least....and two of them went to a decision. The main event was so blah. Maynard better not get a shot at BJ after that performance.
