Which boat is the better deal, I can get a new Acis A22 for jus under 60k or a used X25 for right around 50k. My previous boat was a Sea Ray, this will be my first inboard, I'm a pretty decent wake boarder and an avid ocean surfer so I'm definitely looking to get into wake surfing. I live on the water and have a lift that can handle up to a 24ft boat. My wife wakeboards and surfs also as do my kids, I'm goofy and they are all regular.

The x25 is a 2010, first year of the x25, there is a few around for slightly over 50k

2 very awesome boats. The X25 won't go down much in value for several years, but than again neither will the axis. I think I would lean towards the X25. It's a bad a$$ boat that can Wake and surf with the best of them and the only difference between the 2010 and a 2015 is the bling. The hull is know for being great on bigger lakes and not needing a lot of ballast for a good wake. Having owned both a brand new budget boat and a big 3 boat, if I was doing it again I would buy a used cc,mc,bu.

From a pure performance standpoint, they are both outstanding boats, but I think the X25 produces the same level of performance with less extra ballast than the A22. With just factory ballast, the X25 produces an outstanding wake - good size and good shape. My experience on the A22 is it needed a fair amount of extra ballast to be as exciting. I haven't surfed either boat. Fit and finish work on the X25 will look better.

Both the 50K on a used X25 and 60K on a new A22 seem low... I would have guessed at least 60K on an X25 and more like 75-80 for an outfitted A22 (more confident on the X25 pricing as I tried to buy one last year, A22 I'm interpreting from others' comments as I've never negotiated pricing on one before).

If that X25 is in good shape, and you can get it for 50k, you better jump on it..... Take care of it, and use it for 5 years, and then resell it for 50k again.....

I assume its in good shape, it looks really good in the pictures. I will know for sure when I go look at it in person. Isnt there a problem with the pre-2013 Mastercraft electronics?

There was problems with 2012s for about a year and a half after they were released. The 2010s and 2011s were fine.

Yes and no... mostly no. MC had problems in only the 2012 models when they switched vendors. I've heard even the 2012s are fine now so long as the dealer installs the correct software updates. The 2010s were rock solid - no worries. 50K for a 2010 X-25 is almost too good to be true. If that boat is in good condition and has normal hours, it will sell FAST.

No brainier on this one. I would go X25 all day long. The performance of both on a pure wake side is awesome. Both prices on each seem very very good.

The X25 wins for several reasons. It's seating and storage are next none in comfort. The rear lounge seats are awesome. The deeper v hull on the 25 requires less weight to get the wakes macking and rides way smother cruising across the lake. Vinyl on a 2010 MC is still going to be little heavier duty. Even with the upgrade to the Axis. 2012 was the only year with major touch screen issues. Anything before and after is good to go. I still think even comparing this 2010 year to the revamped interior and upgrades found in a 2014 Axis you're getting little more desireable boat that will hold its value in the long run better. I also love the look of the X25 one of my favs right behind the 03-2011 XStar.

There is only one feature in your case that would put the Axis in the mix on this one and that is Surfgate because of the swapping sides for the fam. Outside if that X25. I couldn't find a 25 for under 60k last season when I was looking.

X25 all day if the boat is in good condition. The X25 is a very popular model and I doubt that you will lose any money on the boat over ownership of the boat is kept in good condition.

With that being said, there will be a guy that I'm sure will post on here soon that is going to tell you to buy an Axis A20 and that he "negotiated hard" and "stroked a check for his" and it even came with a depth finder.

It all comes down to personal preference. Get the boat that fits your families needs.

You have to stroke a check for 120 dollars to go on the boat and make loan payments on the gas for the sets. I guess I should have sent him a certified check to seal the deal.

Id say the x25 at $50k is pretty much a no brainer so long as great shape! I love x25 layout. Prob should make sure u like the wake though first. As for surf gate, guys are doing aftermarket now and if it already has surf tabs on it shouldn't be to hard to put some gen2 type tabs on it and have a great surf wave if that's your thing.

I've got nothing against guys buying budget boats and all but to me it makes much more sense to get a great used MC or CC for less or same.

It is a salt water series boat, and my poor little Tacoma managed to pull this boat 400 miles, across 5 states, a bridge tunnel and a ferry!

Was the X used in salt water? Will you be using it in salt water?

It wasn't used in salt water, and I won't be using it in salt water.

It's very odd that it would be on that type of trailer and never have seen salt. I guess you'd know though. It would show rust in the engine compartment (motor mounts and such).

I wouldn't think a dealer would pair a saltwater series boat with a painted trailer, but the original owner bought from a dealer in New York that was on the coast and he lived near the coast in New Jersey. My last boat had a galvanized trailer also, and it was only fresh water. I will say they my first boat was also only freshwater and it had a painted trailer that became a rusted pile of crap. I live near the ocean also, but the river I live on is fresh water. I Will keeping this boat on my lift but I'm still happy it came with a galvanized trailer.

Awesome choice on boats! The X25 is my favorite boat and does it all well (and a used one costs less than half of a new one). Can't go wrong in my mind!
