I have a 18 1/2 foot 190hp Bayliner. My wife wants to spring for a Perfect Pass for it. I think it's over-kill for my boat. I can give a pretty good pull, though no one who pulls me is able to keep a consistent speed. Just looking for other opinions.

I suggest you spend your time teaching others to give a consistent pull and save your money. None of us learned over night...

heh! I had a PP on my Bayliner Capri 175 with 135hp motor. It is far too difficult to keep a stern drive boat at the right speed.. wakeboarding speed is about the point where a stern drive comes on/falls off of plane.

Get it, you won't be sorry.

Hey Barry, would you mind giving some more info on pp on your Capri 175. Which model of pp did you have? Did you install it yourself? Carb or inject? Any other info? Thanks a lot.

I got PP on my bayliner as well. Do it, it makes the wife so much more comforatble driving and means you get a consistant tow, its a win win situation.

Details anyone? Which PP, which Capri, injected or carb? Thanks

I installed PP on my i/o that I used to have. The boat had a merc 4.3 carb. Installation was very easy, and it worked great.

I also used sacks in the bow and a 19 pitch prop.
wakeboarding and driving became much more enjoyable.

I put one on my Larson 4.3EFI I/O. Best thing I ever bought for the boat!!

I currently have a 21pitch ss prop which is less than a year old. I'd hate to put that on a shelf.
Roy-
Looking at the Wakeboard Pro Perfect Pass, My Capri is 18 1/2 ft, 4.3 Merc with carb.

Mark i think you may have to spring for a smaller pitch prop. Im running a 19" pitch high five along with PP pro. Ive never looked back and thought the money and time i spent on it would have been spent better anywhere else. I/O's (especially underpowered ones) benefit more from PP then pure breds(strictly wakeboard boats) do.

Hey Gary and all....
Guess the wife wins....(yea right) I win. We're gonna install one before summer. Does $1400 installed sound right for the Wakeboard Pro?

I paid $1099 direct from PP, then installed it myself.

Here is a website that details the install. Not my site, but I found it useful.

dont let anyone talk you out of the pro since you will be using the KDW feature more so on an I/O since you dont have +300 hp at your disposal, the throttle on I/O has to controlled more aggressively then on a "D" or "V" drive due to the lack of power to keep the speed consistent.
