I'm starting to plan for my next boat. I've convinced the wife to let me get one in about 2 years. I currently have a 17' I/O that I need to do some gelcoat repair and redo the upholstery on it before I can sell it. I will have to take out a loan for around $20-25K. Right now, I'm drawn towards the Moomba LSV. I see some 2002-2004 models going for around $20K and some 2006-2008 models for $30k. My question is, how much of a difference would I notice between the two? I know they redesigned the hulls in 2006, but is it worth the extra $8-10k?

Thanks in advance...

They came a long way as far as quality goes from early 2000s to later models. I would get as new as you can swing.

2005 is when they first step up the quality. I wouldn't go older than that if you can. The main issues with 2006-2008 is the ballast is slow to fill. But that can be changed, I did it to my supra and it wasn't to bad. The Upholstery and the rest of the boat is much better than the older boats.

2005 and below were 20+ foot boats. 2006 LSV and up are 21+ foot. That's the biggest reason for price. At 2006 the 20 footer became Outback V. 2006 and up LSV has outstanding wakeboard wake

Not sure if you'd be interested in a Nautique?
