Finally got out for a set on my 09 Recoil and DANG. I loved my 07, loved my 08 but the 09 is crazy amazing.

Anyone thinking about getting a SS/flex board the 09 recoil is just unbelievable. All the anti-flex guys, try this thing out.... they've perfected it.

"they've perfected it." I guess you won't be needing a new one next year then, right?

2nd that the 09 is sweet, especially with the wider stance.

I weigh 200 and love it as well. I would really like to ride the Response 145 though.

Seth, Do you mean try it out, or buy it? I don't know what to get I am in between the Response 145 and the Recoil 142. My shop has a 137 Response I am going to demo asap, but i know i need bigger

I mean try it out. Ive never really liked continuous rocker but ive heard the Response is different. Ive been on the Recoil since it came out and havent had a chance to ride a Response. So when it came to the 09 stuff I went with what I knew I liked but for being a bigger guy at 6'4 200 the 145 sounds pretty fun!

I am 6'3 185. i ride the 09 recoil 142 and it is amazing. I just recently started riding the response 142. Its definitly different. I like it much faster than the recoil just not as much abrupt pop.

I ride an old byerly 142 or a ronix vault 144, i am used to the abrubt pop, would like a little more speed but i heard you have to size up with the flex, like i said i weigh between 210 and 215 so i am wondering if the response is big enough? how is it for speed?

I ride the Recoil 08 and the Response 07. I'm 210. I really love these 2 boards! Fun to ride!
Recoil : good edge
awesome pop
great soft landing
loose on the flat section
I also ride a Shane and really love it. I can say that de Recoil feels like the Shane but a little bit better in every aspect. Plus, you can play with the flex, pretty cool!
Response : a bit faster
great pop
smooth landing
It's close to the recoil but faster... ehhh!

I prefere the Recoil because it's the kind of board I want to ride! Get both!

I wish I could afford both, I wouldn't have the dilemma of picking one. What is the major difference between the 08 and 09 slingshot boards if there is any

If you go recoil make sure you get an 09... its just better all around
I don't know about the response

ALL boards have the following changes/additions:

quote:

* Dura Base --> The base on the 09 boards is glossy and more durable. The Dura Base will slide better than our other bases.

* HDLW (High Density Light Weight) PVC rails and tips --> The HDLW PVC Rails and tops are made from a very high quality PVC. Its Tunable by smoothing the sharp edge. The more you round it you create more drag on the board. This makes the board ride slower. Also, if you smack the PVC rail, you can repair it with epoxy. You can customize all our boards to ride how you want it to ride.

* Tapperwall --> This not only gives the board a different look, but it makes it ride smoother in the water.

* Binding Inserts --> There are the same number of inserts, but we made the stance wider. Its about 2 inches wider than the 07-08 boards.
The industry changed the 2 hole pattern. The inserts are closer together, so if you have a 09 board by any wake company, older boots will not fit. If you buy 09 Slingshot boots and you have an 08 or older board by any other wake company, we can hook you up with a adapter plate so the boots fit. The Slingshot 4 hole pattern has not changed.

* Fins and fin holes --> The fins have been replaced by a quality G-10 molded fin. Super strong and the screw holes won’t strip out. The screw is a little larger, so if you put them on a 07-08 board, you will have to drill out the hole. The fin holes on all Slingshot Boards are the same spacing.

Remarks about the new changed Recoil specifically:

quote:

The Recoil rides different then the 07-08. In my personal opinion I feel it rides smoother. I also really like that the board has a wider stance. The board is stiffer in the center and is more flexy in the tip and tail. The pop is amazing. It’s a different board then the 07-08. I feel the recoil has been perfected, but don’t take my opinion on it, go demo it and see what you think of it!
