I used to have an 06 Transcend with Transit bindings and it was heavy as sh*t, I have 07 shanes now and want a new lighter board, I'm thinking, Shane, Watson, One, Absolute platinum, or any others, what is a good board out there that isn't too heavy? thanks

The platinum series from CWB claims to be a whole pound lighter than their regular boards. I've ridden the 2007 transcend platinum and loved it. The absolute is going to have considerable more pop than the transcend and the absolute will ride faster than your 06 Transcend. The 2007 Transcend is a new shape and is faster than the old transcend.

Yeah a pound off would really make a difference, isn't Ronix supposed to make really light boards also?

if you want an extremely light board, get a Dark Core board from Ronix, their offering it in the ONE and the Covin from what im aware of.

they basically found a way to make one of the lightest boards in the industry, and shed its weight even more.

throw in a pair of Ronix Bindings, and you have paradise.

Would you consider $289 cheap?

They also have the 135.

I want a 135 Platinum, Wow that is a great price for $289, why so low? I'm definitely considering buying it. So if it is about 6 pounds how heavy is the Shane or The One?

You won't be disappointed. I've ridden that board for a few years now & love it. Huge pop, decent landings and finless it releases so nicely from the wake. I've got my 07 but it is thrashed from a solid year of riding. Still pops like crazy though.

Havnt' had a chance to try out any of O'Brien's new boards they look pretty sweet though. My buddy's got the 05 Natural and he loves it. Real light board.

My 141 Cartel is hella light, like paper thin light. But also shocks your nervous system when landing in the flats.

I noticed on my buddy's Natural that it seemed pretty thin, no doubt giving it the light weight. Of all the threads on here trashing broken boards, I've never heard much about O'Brien breaking alot of boards...with most of them being so thin, how are they on durability?

My 08 ONE is lighter than my friend's 135 absoulte platty, you can hold one in each hand and really tell the difference. And Like i said, the Dark core Boards are freakin insane, the lightest board ive ever held, and yes, i have held a slingshot.

SUBVI..........stinken light dude. be interesting to see how the Hype and Ronix compare for 08. Not trying to start a war,,,,seriously just wondering what is going to shake down for 08. I heard thte Gator gear shed some weight for 08 too.

Murray and sub VI have the same material for core...comparable to the Ronix dark core. SubVI is obviously more money for good reason, Just look at it in person and try it, you will see what I mean. Murray is a sweet shape to. Surprisingly the Murray is cheaper than the Ronix Darkcore boards. Plus can not emphasize this enough...but made here in the U.S.A. To me that is a big plus. Same goes for Slingshot, and CWB highend boards.....made here=better quality.

Wish i could put my 06' Premier on a diet....love it...but could drop a lil bit of weight. The 08's supposed to be WAY lighter.
