For those with smaller wakeboard boat budgets, Tige has the R Series. They took the RZ2 down a few notches for a nice entry level package:
R22 Price: $65,814 USD
*Includes Diamond Tower with Swivel Board Racks, R-Premium Sound System, TAPS 3 Surf System, Surf+Wake XL Ballast, and a Boat Cover

They are in competition with axis for most ugly dash.

Does the R22 share the same hull with the RZ2 like the RZR and R20?

I like that concept for sure. I have always liked the look and performance of the newer Tige lines, but the dealer here could care less about moving wakeboats and prices them out of touch with reality. I have walked out of the dealership shaking my head twice with cash in hand. Come end of the season their blowout pricing was even lower than what I was asking to pay 4mos prior.

I happen to like the Axis dash. Little edgy with more plastic than most, but flows well while your behind the wheel driving.

Yes, R22 is the RZ2 hull which has been around since 2007 and is pretty proven as a solid surf wave and a decent wakeboarding wake.

I like that tige is pricing it OTD with all the core rider options already on it.

I dislike the digital dash, a big motivator to moving to a boat like an axis would be to get away from all the electronics.

Overall I like it though.

Now give us a "budget" ASR and we will really have something to talk about.

A budget ASR? Probably not going to happen, that's their flagship boat. When they introduce a budget version, it cheapens the value of the premier version.

It's funny you say that, because I feel that they use the budget boats as a means of pushing cost up on their premier models.

Look at axis: an a24 wake will match or beat anything in the Malibu line for performance, side for their new m235 which remains to be seen.

The ASR is a wakeboard driven hull. They won't do it, but if they did, it would be the super interesting as the first "super" wake boat on a budget. This is important, because younger folks have less money to spend on boats and are also the ones who want to wakeboard or be interested in a wakeboard driven hull over a surf driven hull.
