I'm getting ready to buy new B-52 V (22ft) couple questions for you all:
1. any good/bad experiences with b-52?
2. if anyone else has shopped, what is the best price you were able to get a dealer to offer you?

i should note i'm looking at one with 375hp engine with heater, pro tower, PP, pretty much all the upgrades.

The new 22' is an awesome boat! I am an MB dealer, but I will give you my .02. We have had an enourmous response with this boat, it is a killer all around boat that offers a great novice/beginner wake with empty ballast and a very good intermediate/advanced wake with the 1800# system full. Handling is top notch along with the rest of the MB line and the overall seating and storage for a 21'6" boat is phenominal. With the ZR6 that boat will be a monster. Good luck with your purchase.

You have to watch the towers on those things.....very wobbly

John, are you talking about the pro or swoop?

Hi Alan.. since you are a dealer, what is a really good deal on an 07 b-52 with ZR6?

How much difference will the ZR6 make as opposed to the stock PCM 330 in a 21' 6" boat. Would it be better to opt for the 2 speed transmission. I am have been looking at these boat too. How much does the ZR6 and the 2 speed transmission run. Separately.

I have 22 with a 330 on it and it does great loaded up. I did put a smaller prop on it. So you don't really need the 375

I just took out the one with the 375 in it and fell in love with it.. I don't think it NEEDS it.. I just liked it. It has a lot of power with the 375. It is supposedly a $3500 upgrade though.

Great boat, great wake.. cant think of a bad thing to say other than maybe that my tower is a bit wobbly in rough waters.. the 330 is plenty, never had a problem with pulling power... dont get me wrong, the 375 is great, you cant go wrong with either.. the one thing that i love they did with the 07 is the extended interior space with shortening the sun deck.. its got 23ft space with a 21' 6" hull.. Its an unbelievable boat, you wont be disappointed

I have a 21'6" ('05 B52 V3) with the ZR6.
I felt that the ZR6 option was worth the upgrade.
Having the extra power anytime you want it is very nice.

I have heard the swoop tower is much more sturdy. Also IMO it is a much cleaner look. Is there any truth to this? How do MB owners feel about the 2 speed trans.

No experience first hand... but ive also heard that the pro tower is a wobbler.

I have an 07 and love it. On my third MB now. Its al about the build quality for me. I would however, buy the boat w/ the classic swoop tower. I couldnt stand the way the pro looked and was very hard to lower w/ one person not to mention that it doesnt seem as sturdy as the classic.

OK, I've heard this soooo many times on this site. 'The MB tower seems wobbly'...'I've heard its wobbly', etc.
I don't where you people are getting your info, or maybe your tower is a freakin' steel beam, but the one on my '06 B52 is way stronger than my previous tower, the 1 7/8" New Dimension tower that came on my '02 Supra. I have NEVER felt that it was going to give-way, and I've had a couple of guys from the 'Big Mens Club' ride behind it. I've even had a washed-out pro take a set or two, the old-school kind who practically stops the boat when he cuts out, and there were no problems.
Now, I will admit that its a bitch to take down & put up w/ one person, especially with speakers on it, but thats about it.
Stop clubbing the damn tower! It may be ugly to some, it may be hard to collapse, but it is NOT 'wobbly'!

Sorry...

dan smith I didn't know you got a new boat?
Old     (alans)      Join Date: Aug 2005       02-28-2007, 2:58 PM Reply
I personally dont think that you need a ZR6 or 2-speed in the 22, but it would be fun!

Sorry cant talk pricing, pricing is dependent upon how competitive your local dealer wants to be with your other local dealers. MSRP is in the mid to upper 60's with what you are looking at.

Alan,

In the brochure and website MB states that the 2 speed trans helps with gas effeciency. Is this true. How much difference will it actually make?

I am not sure what tower I have check my profile pic but my tower is not wobbley at all. Although it is very hard to collapse. I have the 2 speed tranny and am not sure what to think about it. Ive gotten used to it but I dont really notice a real difference in it so I can take it or leave it. All and all I love the boat.

Pete,
Just in case you were wondering, it wasn't you I was referring to as 'one of the Big Mens Club'. A buddy of mine is coming in about 240lbs.
And yes, I was referring to Jimmy as the 'washed-out old-school pro' :-) . He took a few sets the day I demoed the boat.

Larry,
Have you demoed the boat yet? Did you get a chance to look at the towers? If so, what did you think?

Oh yeah, thanks for the comment, although I think Alan gets the nod for the colors...

I have demoed the boat and I'm about to do so again and likely close the deal on it Saturday. It has the pro tower.. which i like the way it looks but as all have noted it's a pain in the arse to break down... i'd rather have something with two knobs or pins.. but that is small on the list. I'm not a huge wakeboarder and will probably surf more with it and I like that you can surf without any additional weight. If I was going to order a boat I'd probalby go with the standard OEM tower simply because it breaks down easier.

Larry, sweet color scheme. Is it my imagination? Or could you place a big '3' somewhere on that boat? I guess that might piss off Centurion...

Larry,
Not sure where you live, but for me, the only down side would be you now have to wait a month or 2 before you can actually get it out!
Congrats on the purchase...now where's the F'n pics!?!?!?
