If I ride from May to end of October, 3 times a week, how fast can I progress? I really want to amp up my riding next season. Any suggestions to do so?

Audrey,

There's no substitute for good coaching! I've ridden 12 years now without a lot of progression. Coaching allows you to learn at the appropriate pace (basics 1st) and decreases your chance of injury. I've had two lessons in my life and that lack of instruction certainly shows in my riding capability! (Not to mention the three blown ACL injuries!)

Some people are gifted and progress a great deal without a lot of instruction, but that is rare. So, my advice, get a bi-weekly or monthly lesson from a professional coach that gives you specific activities to work on in between sessions.

Oh & don't forget to have fun!!
