Yes, it is definitely worth it to have your stereo professionally tuned. A good technician who regularly does this will apply layers of applicational knowledge that would be well beyond what even a well read DIY'r would have. It takes an educated ear and is kind of an art that is acquired over time.
It would be hard for anyone to give a fixed price in advance. In tuning a system you often find a few things that must be first corrected before you get to the final tuning.

All of these shops specialize in audio and see a lot of boats each year.

Someone sent me this video a few days back and I got a real chuckle. I have a hunch this stereo tuner (video) hasn't worked at any of the shops mentioned above.

Enjoy the video. And don't forget this stuff happens in the real world. (OUI!). My advice is take it to a specialist.

I'm sure they are good, but I'll stick with liquid trends in San Jose,Ca. Dennis is a real nice guy and help me out a lot

No to Liquid Trends, had to get my system re-done twice from them and it still was weak so I would suggest either

Stereo City in Fremont (Felipe is owner) never had a problem in 5 years

Chucktronics I have heard good things about but never used them.

Good Luck

Mae tunz sucks, my friend went to have 2 nvs pods hooked up and ran and they mess up the wiring and only had one speaker playing on each pod,
@brian what do you mean by weak? An what LT did you go to?

Liquid Trends in San Jose....recently had an EXILE set up installed and it sounds great...(Free install on any Exile product right now) Few friends have had Kegs, Lights, and just about any other thing you could install on a boat. Definitely worth your time to check out the shop.

@ Chris the first time I went out, two of the three amps fell off the mounts, then about a month later the cooling fan went out and then one of the amps blew out. The following summer, the deck went out. They also put in these lousy Arc Audio speakers in my tower, and I replaced those with Wet Sounds

Stereo City then we put in an Aquatic AV deck, which I had never heard of before but it is a great deck and it came with a wireless remote so when I am boarding, I can change the music, turn it up as I am riding or about to ride.
