Surprised no ones started a thread on this yet.
What would you do if you won the $1.3 billion Lotto?
Ill start:
1. Buy my mom a Mansion in Hillsborough Ca.
2. Buy the yacht "DB9" in Monaco.
3. Charter a private jet with my wife and all our good friends & head straight to Monaco to hop on our new yacht. Each friend gets a check for $1 million as they jump on the Jet.
4. After about a month of debauchery on the yacht, come back home & think about spending the $800 million.

I would take the lump sum payment. Instantly become my financial advisors best friend. Give 10% to the church. Get a new boat and give my old one away. Get a newer truck and give away my 2015. Get a new motorhome and give away my 2015. Customize my garage. Buy a Ford GT for my wife. She likes the way they look. Build another house in Virginia so we would have our own place to stay when visiting relatives back home. Get a couple of new motorcycles. Start traveling the country and help people in need. Give all my relatives 14000 a year cash gifts. Enjoy the rest of my life without financial worries.

Buy a private lake for wakeboarding. Quit my job. Hire personal trainers and tutors for me and my kids to learn every skill I can think of ... including investment and wakeboarding of course. I sure the hell wouldn't be giving any of it to a church. I might do something that is actually charitable though. That being said, I have yet to ever purchase so much as a scratch off or pull tab, much less a full blown lottery ticket. That's a tax for poor people.

I like the idea of giving away current boat & truck, though my truck may not be quite as desired as the boat... ha.
First on my list would be travel! So much of the world to see and explore, probably would try and knock out all 7 continents before a year had gone by. As for once the shock had passed and I need to start a normal life again I'd start my own BSR somewhere. Having a private lake and cable would be a unbeatable.
I heard CTRL was started by some guys who won the lottery in Europe, that might be a fun adventure too...

Hire 3 lawyers, 3 investment guys, and 3 auditors to help insure I keep it all.
Then buy a few businesses in multiple countries for steady income no matter which country may be in a recession.
Then buy a couple lake / ocean front homes with all of the toys to go with them and hire close friends to be the care takers of them.
And to keep me from being bored, start a R&D tech company to build all the crazy **** me and my buddies think up when drinking.
While keeping up with my current 15% going to charities / church.

This is my favorite yet. I really have no idea what i'd do. I would hope I'd find the right charities or form the right businesses that benefit the world, but life would be different reglardless.

I'd buy a few things, main house, beach house and cabin, couple toys then live off the dividend and never touch the principle. Even if your net was $500M, and you had a 3% return annually, you're netting $15m a year in just dividends.

You got it Boarder85. Even after you take care of your wildest dreams you would have a difficult time spending 15 million a year. They asked Mark Cuban what his advice would be. He said No one needs a million dollars or even 100000. You know who needs help and how much they really need.

Start a couple different companies so I could offer everyone that asks me for money a Job and see who would actually take me up on the offer.
Step two, be the first person to win the lottery and double the winnings through smart investing.

I'd keep $100,000,000 to "live" off of and spread God's love with the rest.

I'd build a website called non-wakeboarddiscussion.com so that the front page discussion ticker on wake world wouldn't be full of crap like: Taxes, Muslims, Trump, healthcare, and would be about wakeboarding instead.

throw it in a bank, hope to get 2-3% interest. Turn my 5acre lot into a park. Built a pole barn, and a workshop. Restore old trucks and sleds.
Chase walleyes in the spring/early summer, and a few storms in the winter.
