Is $16k too much for a mint 99 Prostar 205?

Boat is in MINT condition. 300 hours. 330hp (LT-R?). No ballast. Minimal stereo. Old reverse-arch Wake Designs tower. I am a first-time buyer and any help is appreciated.

not for the boat and trailer...however, with the ugly tower...I'd try to beat'em up a little. Otherwise good price

That's the rub. The boat and trailer are immaculate--seriously, not a speck of dirt or a scratch on either of them--but I would have to install a new tower, racks, ballast, and stereo to get it where I want it. That sets the price fairly high for a DD, no?

Is that the asking price, or your negotiated price? It's a High but probably fair price if you like the boat, but I'd personally keep looking for a Vdrive with that budget.

99 they made both v-drive and DD 205's if my memory is correct. Sweet boat either way.

Offer $14,500 and see if they take it.

I can get a 1996 Nautique Super Sport for $17k firm. The condition is not quite as good, but it's a V-Drive with nearly all options and new tower. Since the MC is a DD and I would have to change the tower, add stereo, and add ballast, I assume that everyone would recommend the Nautique?
