Anyone make sun skirts for their boat? i have a cover but it doesn't cover the sides of my black boat. Just curious on any ideas that you could share.

I would like to hang some material down the sides so the sun doesn't beat on it while it sits on the lift.

Skiboatcovers.com can do make you a cover for your boat but it isn't cheap. I have heard they are high quality covers from many people.

Curious as to what others have done.

skiboatcover.com has that as an option for there covers. But I bet you could just take you cover to a local Upholster shop and have them added.

I just ordered a new cover from skiboatcovers.com yesterday but I got the water line fit so it would cover up the sides and transom of the boat.

how does the skirt attach to the boat so it doesn't fall in the water? (the one from Skiboatcovers)

I think it zips on and it shouldn't be any longer than the bottom of the hull.

If you go to their website you can find some better picture with it on the trailer

DIY. GO buy some velcro and some matteral and just attach it. Its easy. Or like someone else said, just take your existing cover to an upholsterer.

Attaching it is the hard part. (the velcro)

BTW, i did buy some material. Some boat cover material for pretty cheap. I am going to do it myself with grommets and ties on the cleats and tower and then put the cover over. Let you know how it turns out. Should be interesting.

Black doesn't oxidize that bad.

But if you must I would go see your upholsterer.

I have been skirting for the last 20 years. The hull looks great and I only wax once a year but I dont need too. Have a skirt sewn onto the existing cover...simple and cheap.

I finally got my skiboatcovers.com in and its great. I would of had the skirts sewed on the old one but it was so dry roited you could see through it.
