This is nuts. We saw this guy in the morning when we pulled out. It was not on the 4th but the day after.

My buddy saw the whole thing happen and ended up towing the wrecked boat back in. The border patrol boat was traveling at a high rate of speed to be right up next to the toolies, (not needed, the water was all deep in this section of river) needless to say they were and are completely inexperienced. The entrance to Clear Lake is a small opening wide enough for a boat to come out, "Everyone" knows where this is. There are people coming in and out all hours of the day.
I feel so bad for the family. Once my friend towed the boat in, the law enforcement agencies were like "thank you" now get lost basically, Did not ask for any information at all. The Border Patrol are completely at fault.
There are so many law enforcement agencies on our waterway it is simply rediculous. They are all out there basically fighting each other for revenues. They are all financially struggling. And will nab you for flicking a bugger on someones windshield just to run you through the check list, and write you a ticket and look for alcohol.
My thoughts and prayers go out to this family with a boat load full of children.
Last time I checked the border was 25 miles south of here. They are supposed to be helping us and protecting us, not smashing us up. Granted accidents happen, but stupidity by law enforcement? I for one hope this costs them dearly, which in turn will cost us, the tax payers.
