Has anyone tried out the new Hyperlite HI FI? I went into the store yesterday with my wife and she decided that she wants this board. I cannot find any real reviews online for it yet, but the employee at the store said he has been riding it and really enjoys it. Thanks in advance.

The HiFi is their top of the line skim board. Pretty typical overseas construction. Clear carbon top, painted rails and bottom over eps. They are pricey for a wakeboard brand, but seem like decent boards. The shape is your average skim shape, nothing too dramatic, nothing out of the ordinary.

It is amazing how reps and salesman always love the products you are looking at.

There are lots of skims in that price range, you could even get one custom done for her. The larger question is a 53" board the right size for her.

Thanks Nick. What would be the ideal size fit for that board? They do have the 56"er, but the 53" says it's good for up to 190 I think it is.

In the past I had a custom skim that i loved and have also owned and ridden the LF TC skim in the 52". When I first rode the HI-FI i was super impressed. the board hauls ass and is a blast to ride. I am currently riding it in the 56 and am really liking it. the 53 for whatever reason has a tendency to pearl on me from time to time. but I'm also 190 pounds. the board is incredibly light, super poppy off the wake… and has no swing weight.

Everyone who has demo'd the HI FI has bought it. hope that helps.

Awesome, Thanks Tarek! That is what I wanted to hear. I think I will go with the 56' as well, as we often have bigger people on the boat than myself. I ride a Sweet Spot Pro in the 4'8" so hopefully it doesnt feel bigger than that board being in a skim. I have not ridden skim enough to know how each rides, but Im looking forward to trying it out.

The fit has more to do with your wife's size. A 53" is a medium to big skim on average and a 56" or 58" are usually what I call stretched skims. They are longer and their outlines have typically been stretched; proportionally they have not gotten comparably wider or thicker with the added length. This tends to straighten out the rail line some, which generally makes a board faster. If you are looking for an all around board not just something for wifey, then yeah probably go with the 56".

The HiFi is a good shape, but above 50" is pretty big for most women.
By buying a high end board too big you are losing all that high end performance you are paying a premium price for.

Great comments, and I appreciate them. My family are pretty small, 5'6-7 and I am 160lbs. I have two other people that come out and ride with me quite often, and they are 175ish and 185ish. I would like to have the board fit all of us, but I think by the comments, I would be better off going with the shorter Hi Fi? I have my sweet spot I ride, but would also like to get into some skim riding too. I already have the shorter broadcast they currently ride when they come out, but it seems short and slow for them, but then that board is in a whole different quality class than the Hi fi.
