Good Hope Bay. We tried to get closer to tapestry wall but all those spots were taken. We were getting too far from the marina so we found a nice spot in Good Hope Bay and had a blast. 1 torn ACL, and 1dislocated hip. Luckily neither injury was mine. Great trip and I will be going back yearly!

i was lucky enough to stumble across this beauty of a lake while on a family vacation. We rented a super sweet deck boat and spent a day on the lake. This place is amazing!

Steve, I love it!! Those pics are what powell is all about. Boarding in those tight canyons bring back so many memories, truely one of a kind experience. Everyone in that tube pic has a gigantic smile on their face, so great, thanks for sharing :-)

Riding down the canyon looks MENTAL!! I need to get out there for a trip soon. How late in the year is it good out there?
Old     (wakerider111)      Join Date: Jul 2006       09-13-2010, 2:13 PM Reply
as always with any lake, the later in the year the less boats and smoother the water, but of course the colder it gets too on the other hand. september (AFTER LABOR DAY) through october is the BEST! water temp is still good and far fewer peeps and weather is typically good too. best time is NOW. Go Go GO

We will be there next week for Powellapazoola and in hopes for some good water.

Steve ~~ Great pics!

Yeah we've decided that the last week of Sept or First week of Oct will be when we go next year

Love that pic. Makes me really miss Powell. Once a year is not enough. I've never been down San Juan. Cheap parents don't want to spend the gas to go past warm creek.

Rob ~~ We took a run to the San Juan with 2 different boats, just one took over $130 one way. It's a good drive and a pretty penny to get there and back for a full day of flat water. ITS SO WORTH EVERY PENNY! This last trip over the weekend was our 8th trip down

We just got back from Powellapalooza and can I tell you holy cow. That has to be the most people I have seen at the Marina at one time. We never really planned much riding but really found some decent water. Myself and 2 other buddies found the in for the rail park and session it forever it seems like. I might have came out with a few pics, check em out at http://picasaweb.google.com/11805884...lapalooza2010# Let me know what you think!!!

Josh powellaooalooza was awesome, I was one of the idiots camping on the dock by your houseboat, are you going to be back next year?

bumber, i totally missed every bit of powellpalooza despite it was practically in my back yard. too many people asked those days off for work. had other things going on anyway. but i did go boarding early sat before everyone got out and tore up the water.

Jeb ~~ There's already talk of going next year if they host a second annual. We will do thing a little different since everybody thought our boat was free game since we were partying all the time. More work keeping people off the boat then partying for some of us guys. That's what you get when your boat is in the middle of an all out party, LOL. Can't wait to see what they work up for Powellapalooza 2...

Ty ~~ Nice pics bro, I see that boat quite a bit it seems. We were down 8 times (9th in a few weeks) this year and I seem to see your boat. Can't remember if cause it's in a slip or it's being used. Good times at Lake Powell...

I made a time lapse video when we drove from Las Vegas to Lake Powell on our Cross Country trip.

Couldn't help but resurrect an old thread after just spending a week there. My favorite vacation place of all time (3x there). Pictures simply can't do it justice, but never-the-less...

We used to have a houseboat on Powell. It's crazy how low the water level is compared to when I was a kid spending every summer there. You could drive a boat under rainbow bridge.

Going to Powell for the first time in late August. How are you tying off your boats to the HB.
