Hi everyone. This is my first post on the forum but I am a long time wakeboarder.
I have always been riding behind other peoples boats, and I am finally shopping for my own. My funding is limited.

So I am looking at a 2000 Moomba Outback that is listed at what I consider a good price. I just was wondering if I am going to be able to get a decent wake out of it. I am accustomed to a Mastercraft X Star wake and a Super Air Nautique wake. Both those boats are from around the 2005ish era.

I do inverts and I like a big wake, but at my price point I am really limited. Anyways, do you think if I add ballast I will be able to get a decent wake?

Coming armed to an X Star or SAN the wake is going to be smaller, but if you sack it out you can get a good wake out of it.

I'm not sure what a good price range on a 2000 Outback, but keep in mind if you like that SAN wake the hull from 95-2006 on the Super Sports and Super Airs is essentially identical. Some of those late 90s Super Sports can be had pretty cheap, and with regular maintenance those motors are almost bullet proof. until 1500-2000 hours.

I rode one once that had sac's laying all over the floor. It had a decent wake, It still wasn't as big as my old 210 was at the time but is was a fun wake!!!!

I had a v-drive 1995 super sport at the time like Ryan is talking about. It was a really good boat.

There was this exact discussion on here not long ago..search it out. I think the guy passed on it.

These boats did not produce a good wake at all. From those 2 boats you listed your going to be very disappointed. Those boats are prior to Moomba being nice. Those boats are cheaply made and very basic.

Unless its sub 10K I think there are better options.
