I have the opportunity to buy a 1980 MasterCraft Stars and Stripes for $1000 from a friend of a friend. I have not seen the boat yet but it does run, and is in decent shape for it's age. I would be purchasing strictly for resale as I own a 210 SAN. What are these boats worth and would it be worth my time to buy, fix up, and resale?

In that case, it is a no brainer to buy this boat at 1K granted it runs. If everything checks out I'm going to snag it. Thanks!

Make sure to check the stringers. They are wooden and the boat is at the age when alot of boats must replace them.

why doesnt it start? hows the floor? hows the trans? hows the trailer?

you can flip those for 3-6k in my neck of the woods.

most of them old mastercrafts are pretty solid boats . I had a 78 with almsot 2k hrs on it and it ran strong when i sold it. and the stringers where solid, and it lived in the delta.
