I agree on good camera work, but that is pretty amazing even for camera work if it is not true... Even if the length is half that, I will be impressed...

Looks sweet... What are those pockets in hull in the front of the boat? Function or style? You can see when you look at the pic of the front of the boat and it is on the actual hull (lower deck)...

Boardracks look pretty sweet. I did not know PTM did those... Is that who Malibu is using for their clamping racks too?

Those are the same clamping board racks PTM developed and Tige started selling in 2012.

I have them on my RZR and absolutely love them. We have actually gone a full set (several times) before we realized that we forgot to clamp the boards back down and never had a problem.

They aren't cheap though.

MC has been using clamping racks for years. I'm ready to see a video of this thing to explain some features. Pictures are great, but what makes it stand out from the SC or SA?

Well, it is 2 feet bigger than the SA isn't it? That rear flip around seat kind of like the Mastercraft one is new to Supra I believe. The racks.

Not sure, I dont think so? SA and SC is available in a 550, so same 25 ft length. Those little interior things I can see, I'm more interested in what it's main purpose is, or if it's just supposed to be good at both surf and wake, but not exceptionally awesome at one or the other. Love the way it looks though, another pickle fork in the lineup looks good. Also can tell it has those rear seats on the transom for hanging out. Not sure how useful those are, as I'd probably just prefer a larger sun deck.

All in all, looks sweet.

350/450/550 has nothing to do with the length. That is what motor. All SC's are the same boat(other than engine) and all SA's are the same boat(other than engine). This is definitely a boat in the 24+ foot range looking at the pictures which would make it 1.5'+ bigger than the SA and 2.5' bigger than the SC.

To me it looks like it is basically a larger version of the SA just like the MXZ24 is a larger version of the MXZ22.

I am going to go out on a limb here (not really) and guess the hull is basically the same hull as the SA (which is basically the same as the SC) but longer and probably a full 102" beam. The hull is a proven winner now. Definitely for wakeboarding and handling with the Surf ability still up for debate it seems.

The convertible seat looks pretty bad a$$

This is an Axis guy's opinion. The Supra SE seems very functional while still maintaining the bling factor. Just by checking it out for a couple of minutes, it looks like a great boat. I love the captain's chair, speaker placement, movable rear seat. I know this might sound harsh, but it looks like a blinged out A22/A24. The freeboard is higher but the hull is the same as the A22. I think supra did well on this one.

No more 350.... Will be 400/450/550 since they are switching to the Raptor effective now... No more SC350, SA350 WIll be SC400 and SA400 I believe...

I also talked with the Supra dealer up here in the Seattle area last week and while I still think wakeboard boats for 6 figures is crazy the price he told me should make it on the low end of the big boats available today (G23, MXZ24, Xstar/X46).

Take your wake surfing, wakeboarding and handling to extremes with the new SE450 and SE550 from Supra Boats @Supra_Boats. This 24-foot 6-inch wake boat cranks out the most massive cleanest custom shaped surf waves on either side thanks to 3200 pounds of ballast, precise hull design and the available Swell Surf System. The SE further exceeds high performance with wakeboard wakes that will be launching pros at the 2014 WWA Wakeboard World Championships presented by Supra Boats. The responsive handling and solid ride of the SE earned its spot on the Worlds stage as a large boat that excels in the precise maneuvering of a tournament tow boat. The interior refinement of the SE begins with the extremely wide bow and finishes with crowd-astonishing accommodation in all seating areas especially the new Convertible Rear-facing Bench seat. Enjoy the high torque efficient quiet power of the 440 6.2 liter Ford Raptor by Indmar standard with the instantaneous pull-up 427 foot pounds of torque provides. Opt for the SE550 and move up to the 575 6.2 liter Ford Raptor Supercharged with 580 ft lbs torque. Fuel your water sports passion with the precision of wake surfing, wakeboarding and overall ride at its most extreme in the new 2015 SE450 and SE550.

It's OK, I think they are the first boat company (wakeboard boat company anyways) to go to the mercedes/BMW type of model nomenclature.

Just ordered our first one with the 575HP Ford motor! Can't wait.
BTW fully loaded with options it's going to compete very nicely against MC, Nautique, and Malibu in similar boat sizes.

I wish it was smaller. 24' plus is just too big for my liking. What is next, a larger SC? I hope so...I like the SC slightly better than the SA. Over all the SE looks pretty cool. Has anyone figured out the price range yet.

I find it funny how supras are selling in the 100k and higher range and no one on here is complaining or bashing them. MC and nautique sell for and people just rag on them. I don't get it. Do people just drink the koolaide that much?

Never thought I would see the day a supra is costing the same as the big three. They look like nice boats but don't think I would purchase one for that price. Just don't have the long last reputation as the big three to justify the cost hike Can someone explain that to me. I'm dumb founded here???

Let the bashing commence.

Every manufacturer has increased prices. So called 'core wakeboard boats' without all of the creature comforts are 10-15K more 3 years later. Sure, the vinyl is nice, dash layout is nice, hinged seats, etc. I'm 39 and I wish I would have gotten into boarding in my 20's but couldn't afford it. Can you name a decent boat new in the 40's for a person starting out? It's out of control and we're drinking the koolaid taking out 15year plus loans.

I really don't understand the prices on wakeboard boats.
Look at the pricing on other boats, much larger, and much fancier.
You know what 100k buys you for a cobalt? A hell of a lot more than a 21ft vdrive
Old     (OneCent)      Join Date: Jul 2010       08-16-2014, 1:13 AM Reply
What do you get or a 100k Cobalt? Upgrade them with aTower and a Ballast and Wake System and you are in the same region then the a Malibu, MC, Tige...
Old     (Jmorlan)      Join Date: May 2013       08-16-2014, 8:45 AM Reply
A 100k cobalt gets you a 26ft boat you can sleep and piss on.
Much more material is used, and much fancier equipment.

Was picking up some boat bright at our local San Ramon boats, who is a cobalt dealer.
while a cobalt is not my cup of tea, I couldn't help but browse and check out the prices.
I was surprised at what you could get for the price.
They also had a brand new 24ft Yamaha dual motor jet boat, for 55k. Also, not my cup of tea, but it really makes you ponder the cost, and margin on these wakeboats.
There are much larger boats, being sold for MUCH less. And the interior and features of some of these other boats are nothing to talk down upon
Old     (hco)      Join Date: Jun 2006       08-16-2014, 10:22 AM Reply
Cobalt stock sound systems are junk compared to what you get in MC/Nautique. The ballast pumps alone in the top 3 add almost 6k to the cost of each boats. Much more engineering and programming goes into the the creation of the user interface/screens, more more custom CNC'ing is done, and think about the money that goes into figuring out the new surf tabs/systems. There is good margin on wakeboats, but everyone needs to make money from the top down. They are costly, but there is much more in those boats than a Cobalt. Not even a close comparison.
Old     (Jmorlan)      Join Date: May 2013       08-16-2014, 10:24 AM Reply
$6k factory cost on a ballast system? Go home you're drunk

Yep. Go ride in a cobalt then go ride in a brand new boat from one of the "big four" top wakeboats. It's a whole different feel. It's not for me at all.

I'm not saying a sea ray, or a cobalt is for me, obviously I too, own a wakeboat.
What I'm saying, is how in the hell can a 21ft wakeboat be priced the same as a 25ft cobalt or sea ray, that have cabins, and fridges, and toilets, and more material used, and not be making oodles of money hand over fist?
Old     (aricsx15)      Join Date: Jan 2014       08-16-2014, 4:11 PM Reply
100k cobalt gets you a 21ft runabout.... a 350k cobalt is one you can sleep on. Talked to the slalom shop guys a few days ago, cant wait to see the se in person!

You can buy a MB, Axis or Moomba... and i bet they perform way better then every cobalt or sea ray. And at the end.. we want a great wake behind the boat, thats why we buy the $-eaters.

I had the pleasure of surfing behind the SE 450 yesterday. I thought the wake was HUGE with the stock ballast. I started with all my weight on the back foot to keep from running into the boat because of the speed I was getting. Finally sped up and moved further back and it was incredible.

I just sold my SA which was absolutely great ! This boat is all over my radar , the fit and finish on my SA was absolutely top notch never had one issue with it in two seasons. This SE looks like an absolute home run again !! Was at Active Water sports today and a couple of guys who just toured Skiers choice plant said it's amazing looking for such a big boat. I can't wait to see it and more importantly ride behind it.

I want to see this thing put against the big surf machines with pro/sponsored surfers behind them.

But for now, what about video of some surf sets? We've got pictures, there must be video.

If Supra has a boat that can put out a competition style wave, i'd jump on this in a second.
Old     (chattwake)      Join Date: Jan 2010       08-21-2014, 5:40 AM Reply
For some reason I find it annoying when people post pictures of their surf wave with the camera essentially positioned at water level out on the side of the boat. Yeah, it looks like you're surfing a 40ft wave from that perspective. I much prefer pictures taken from inside the boat or from the tower, which shows an actual to scale view of the wave. Maybe it's just me.

That being said, the wave behind the SE looks nice and well shaped. Wonder what the price will be. My suspicion is a loaded SE550 will be in the 120k range (MSRP) or more.
Old     (Shane10p)      Join Date: Jul 2013       08-21-2014, 7:43 AM Reply
The photo Matt Hibbing posted above looks to be from the tower. Wave looks very good , but how about we see some wake photos ! Obviously with the size of the boat it's gonna be going up against the G which seems to be able to make a great surf wave and also wakeboard wake. I'm sure this will do the same since my SA wake wake awesome with a little extra weight and would assume this is a very similar hull design.

I'm guessing this will be 20-30k less than a G. Probably finish out, with trailer, between 105k MSRP for a mild optioned boat, all the way to about $142k MSRP for a maxed out spec, with a 550. (Only based on my guess, that it will be 10k more than the SA)

I would expect "Actual paid prices" to range from $85k (Fairly Basic) -$115k.(Fairly loaded with 550)

Base MSRP on a G, without a trailer, is $129,212.00. And a loaded example, with tandem trailer, and the 550, hits about a $178K MSRP.

So, on a new order, a G "Actual paid" should run $110k (No options, except TA trailer) - $150k (Loaded with 550hp)

I'd like to know how much more weight you could add to stock, without bags on the seats. Anyone know if there's any extra room in the rear lockers when the bags are filled in the SA or SC? I was a little disappointed in the size of the rear lockers when I was testing an SA just the other day. The SE is a big boat, and would need some more weight than the stock 1000 (bag and tank) in the rear to get the epic wave more serious surfers would look for.

Obviously with the size of the boat it's gonna be going up against the G which seems to be able to make a great surf wave and also wakeboard wake. I'm sure this will do the same since my SA wake wake awesome with a little extra weight and would assume this is a very similar hull design.

Here's a decent pic from a few weeks ago when we were out riding. Stock plus a few people.

Taft,
There is definitely room for bigger bags in the lockers of the SC and SA. I run 1100's in the rear of the SC and there is room on top for some life jackets etc.

There is room on top with 1100s. The compartments are really deep. Unfortunately, the compartments are too narrow, and short to take advantage of an 1100lb sack. An 1100, filled in an SC, only holds about 750 lbs of water.

We took measurements of the compartments, and had some bigger bags made custom to fit. They are taller (28", instead of the height of the 1100, which is 24"), Narrower, and shorter. They fill up perfectly, and hold a little over 800lbs each.

It's handy having a set of race car scales

Eric,

Do your custom bags just fill the storage compartment or do they continue on under the seats? The bags I run continue on under the seats and seem to get very close to full. You have now made me curious on how full they really are. ;-) That is definitely cool having the scales to get exact weights.

^ Ya, we had them built in sort of a boot shape. If I remember correctly, they drop down at the front edge of the compartments and come another 16 or 18" foreward under the seat. That area helps get a little more, but it just doesn't add up to a huge amount.

The compartments are plenty big enough in this new boat for additional weight without putting sacs on the seats. For testing I added two extra 750's in front of the plumbed in 750's in the rear. That's 4700lbs of sacs without anything on the seats or the floor. Can you say big waves for days???? Haha
