What kind of board is he riding? Looks like a vanguard type board. I've been wanting to make a board like that.

Looks like a backside Lovett Roll to me. James Lovett has been doing those for years. IMO, that's not a new trick, just a variation on an existing one...
Watch around :57 in or so.

I think both tricks are just a variation of the Air, Drop and Paddle aren't they?
