My 2cents. It is a fine board. The bindings are junk. I love the motive shape and really this is just a lateral move. It appears to be a re-press of an old shape done at an inexpensive overseas factory. This board is geared for a purely recreational user. Someone who rides so little (Memorial, 4th and Labor) that it will be out of warranty by the time the bindings unravel. I'm not digging at Hyperlite. They have a lot of awesome stuff, but this is their budget-rec offering.
Honestly, your best bet is to look for a top-end 2013-2014 board on closeout or used. Pair it with some new closeout bindings and you can stay around $400 reasonably. ($150 board and $250 bindings). It is a $100 more than this board, but it will be worth much, much more. Post here what size you are looking for and I am sure there are plenty of guys with gear to unload. I've got a couple of boards, but they are all park boards.
