Hey check out the Mini Series on DVD called "The Pacific" its a 8 disk series that go's over the 1st Marines that fought in the Pacific,
At times its a bit Hard Core. (come on its a WAR movie) The wife was not a huge fan, But I realy enjoyed it. Gives you a sence of the things these guys went threw. Be sure to check out the Interviews at the end. Many of the orignal people that were re inacted in the movie give interviews in the Last disk.
Makes me think about what the troops are or have gone threw in the Middle East

I watched the series on HBO, enjoyed it as well. It reminded me a tad bit of "The Thin Red Line", which is my #1 favorite war movie.
