Just to throw this out there Notidad, most teachers get paid less than garbage men. Maybe if they got paid well we wouldn't have issues like poor Dave here. And I too hope he's not entering a spelling bee.

WW message board has a spell checker that you can enable in your profile.

unfortunately, ww's spell checker can't tell if you used the wrong word or not. ww users can though.

this one makes me cringe as well.

Sorry to pile on. I just couldn't resist. In answer to your question, check out the trick list at www.intleague.com.

"now(Now?) that was funny!! LOL!!!! guess(I guess?) im(you mean "I'm?") not the english (you mean "English?") major either. dam(you mean "Damn?"), when are we gonna get auto spell check on this site. im (again, you mean "I'm" I assume?) to(you mean "too?") lazy to read a dictionary."

I guess you're too lazy to take grammar lessons, punctuate, and capitalize too? Sorry Bryan...criticizing someone's spelling when your grammar and spelling are pretty lacking was a bad move. I know this post was your admission of not having perfect grammar, but being 29yrs old and saying "Hope you don't enter a spelling bee!" to someone that is probably half your age was a cheap shot (although a lot of us were probably thinking the same thing)...Just pointing it out...no offense, but you left yourself open. "Let he that is without sin cast the first stone!"}

Maybe he was spelling it that way to emphasize pronounciation. Like Ernest goes to camp. Com- pi-tish-ion. I think it's genius

Dan your so Smart your so smart S-M-R-T S-M-R-T! DOAH! S-M-A-R-T S-M-A-R-T.

Dan your prolly a really cool dude in all but, no one would be able to tell that from your previous post. I mean think about it. Do you really wanna be the aint aint a word type of guy.
Old     (depswa)      Join Date: Nov 2000       01-29-2007, 11:42 AM Reply
IB...yea...I was thinking that...but, I use gonna all the time, so I didn't want to nitpick! j/k LOL

HA! G. Rios...I guess it is uncool to speak English correctly? I am not a professor of the English language, nor am I out to bash anyone. Anyone that knows me knows I am a genuinely a nice guy.

I was just trying to state a point. To criticize someone's shortcomings when you have some flaws yourself is wrong. Although, I'm sure it was meant to be funny...I'm not sure if the kid that asked the question thought it was funny.

Peace everyone!

--By the way when you typed "your" you meant "you're" HA!--

I find it very helpful. We all need to be reminded to speak and write correctly. I know I can get sloppy writing on blogs and e-mails. Communicating can quickly deteriorate into no one understanding each other if the basic rules are not followed. Not to be anal but proper English is something we all should strive to do. That is why I went to the "School for Kids Who don't Read Good". Paid off handsomely as a model.

Teachers only accont for 6 hours of a students day. The average teacher makes around 50k. Teachers teach because they love it, not for the money.

Marc - I wasn't implying that they made alot just that our tax dollars aren't being used very well. Maybe that's not fair to say, teaching is hard (I've done it and wouldn't go back) especially when you have students that do not want to learn. That said, he's in real trouble unless he's spelling that way on purpose, and somewhere the education system failed him.

one time i stumbled upon a wakeworld discussion that was titled something like, "post a pic of your boat" amongst all the boat pic posts, one guy posted a big picture of a toaster and it said underneath "i dont have a boat, i wish i had a boat to show everyone but i here is a picture of my toaster". i thought it was the funniest until i saw this post. look how much attention you got for a spelling error (as ridiculous as it is of course), and I too have nothing to say about the tricks you need in competition.. sorry

I work for a small department 60 paid near Tacoma, WA... Puyallup Fire & Rescue.

On that note, the city forgot to pay the bill for the internet domain http://puyallupfire.com

so someone bought it and changed it to a porn site

The new website is:

Yeah my Dad was a real 'stickler' for that. He said you can still be dumb as dirt, but at least if you know how to spell, you won't look like it.

LOL
