It has been a looooong time since I purchased a new board. I have wanted to for a long time, but always hesitant because I still really like my Liquid Force Substance (yes, from like 2009ish). I hated the board I had before that and I am a creature of habit. My Substance is a 138, but I am thinking of getting the 2019 Murray 144. I am 6'0, 180 lbs. Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Also, would Slingshot RAD bindings work with the Murray?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think anyone has legitimately complained about a Murray Board since he came out with a pro model. I rode one briefly back in 2007, but nothing recently, so can't comment there. I'm commenting on your opinion of the Substance ( I rode the same board back in 04/05/06) and your creature of habit. Liquid Force still makes the "Classic" which is an old Watson pro model which rides similar to the substance (also a Watson Pro Model). I'm currently riding a Classic and love it.

Sorry havent riden the Murray, but the Ronix RXT seems to be the rage here with every man and his dog buying one. Personally i enjoy the Hyperlite Riot i ride much more. Very intermediate rider. Going up a size id highly reccomend. Im 6'0 and about 200lbs and ride a 144, great size.

I currently ride a 2019 Murray 150 and love it. My 2018 had a delamination issue but BuyWake took care of it easily in like a week under warranty. I’m 6’2” 220lbs but usually trend closer to 200lbs by the end of summer. I’m currently in RAD bindings after my Ronix One bindings broke. They’re ok but if I had to do it over again I would’ve splurged for Ones again or maybe go with KTVs. I don’t like the half gummy, half lace setup of the RADs as much as I thought I would and my Ones held so much better.

I am in the same boat so to speak. I am a large advanced rider and have been riding the Hyperlite Tribute for over a decade now. I would like something lighter and know now that wakeboarding is on the decline that it is harder to try lots of different boards before settling on one. Also only ride open toe bindings which are much more hard to find in a quality pro model. ( I ride old Watsons ) I am thinking I might try a Murray 150 but would love other suggestions for a faster board that is light with lots of pop.
