I'm trying to find a stereo that has ATT (attenuate) on a wired remote. I'd also like it to retain its settings when it loses power and have a front aux input. Let me know if you can recommend one that I look at. So far I'm mostly seeing MUTE buttons instead of ATT on the remotes. I wore out the volume buttons on the Kenwood remote because you have to turn it up every time you start the engine and then back down when you stop. ATT solves that problem.

Thanks, Mike

Mike,
If you are looking for automatic volume control and an aux input there are options for units to do this, you don't need a head unit if you are using an Ipod or similar. You can do searches on the forums.

I'm sure others can chime in regarding your options.

Check out HSE volume control - It can handle that for you. I think the website is www.hsetrident.com/. I had it on my last boat an absolutely loved it.

Thanks for the suggestions. The HSE volume control looks nice, but I'm not into the audio enough to spend $300 for it. If anybody has a fairly new wired remote with an ATT button, let me know what brand. The only one I've seen so far is Pioneer, but they don't seem to make marine stereos. The old Sony remote had an ATT button, but not the new ones.

FYI, I just bought a Kenwood KCA-RC60MR remote and the MUTE button actually does ATTENUATE instead of MUTE. It also works with my 10 year old head unit.

I re-located my wired remote today and was testing it out and actually found out my mute button on my wired remote ATT's the head unit.

Maybe it has something to do with if your HU only has a ATT button and not MUTE button, then the MUTE button on the remote will just ATT the HU
