I was just thinking that i really don't see purple on any boats, not even as an accent.
maybe its just me, but i don't think of purple as a "girl color" I mean purple is one of the major/basic colors. a basic box of crayons will have all primary colors, secondary colors plus black brown and white.
so i searched around (maybe i missed some brands) and these are the only ones with purple in their boat-builder pages :
1. Tige
2. Malibu
3. Supra... kinda...their wraps have some purple options
i was surprised mastercraft did not have purple

Mastercraft used to have purple. There was a purple and white 205v at the dealer when we bought our X2 many years ago.

There was this old thread somewhat on topic.
http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showt...ghlight=purple
"If you want something with purple or lavender buy a nautique, they always find a way to put purple or lavender somewhere on every freakin boat! That’s lame, it’s a boat not an outfit for your wife. Buy the best, buy a Malibu."
But what now, purple on Malibu too?

Wakestock last year had a yellow and purple VLX as one of the tow boats, and damn was that a great looking boat. But very trendy.

I had a purple main stripe 93 sport nautique for 3 years up until last year.
I loved that boat and against it as i was off the bat, it really grew on me. I wont trade my red and black boat fro another purple one however

I have a 97 Sunsetter that is all white with a tiny purple and teal pinstripe all they around the boat. Each strip is about an 3/16" of an inch so it is not very noticeable.
I have always thought that the Black with Purple accents looked good on the Malibu's. Heck you can even pink if you want.

that was one of the color combos i was thinking about, especially since yellow and purple are complementary colors (opposite of each other on color wheel)
but overall i was thinking purple as a accent color or companion color to another
heck, if someone were really into the phoenix suns, then they could do the team colors haha
i really like green and purple together too... maybe some day i will be able to afford a custom boat...but its fun to play

didn't realize malibu had pink as an option. nice going on their part keeping the options open. i bet they are the only ones with pink
also it is interesting to see that maybe there has been more purple options (in the past) than i thought

i forget the riders name, but there is a girl pro wake that has a black and pink wakesetter that looks pretty cool. as far as purple goes, i put it in the same category as teal, its one of those colors that older boats seem to have and i never liked the way the older boats looked, always looked a little tacky in my opinion.

Those two boats above have to be the ugliest combos I have ever seen! Also, I remeber a hideous "rasta" colored SAN that was for sale a few years back. Anyone have the pics?

There was a point in time where I believe Malibu had two shades of purple to pick from. One light and one darker, deep purple. Around 98, 99, 2000 or so.

I see purple or teal and think 90s. Its one of those colors that are 'out there' that people will love or hate and will create a smaller resale market.

Although you don't see many (or any) newer ones...Sanger still has it as an option. My old Black hull Sanger with purple gets soooo many compliments it is almost embarrassing.

Yep, Sanger still has it as an option. My 05 215 has the purple mid-stripe with white hull and topdeck. It can look a bit "Barney" with any oxidation- but clean I get a lot of compliment on it. Regardless, love it or hate it...you don't see yourself coming.

Rob, I'm sorry if thats your boat, but it looks like Martha Stewart had a baby with a tattoo artist and then let it puke all over that boat. I really like that SANTE though. Purple is the new black.

Purple is the color boat you get when your wife finally tell you these words, "yes I think we should get a boat, BUT, I get to pick the colors..."
This leads to the ponderer using such terms as "finally", "reasonable", "stylish", "please don't make me look like a douche".
All the while, your better half is thinking of terms like, "cute", "pretty", "glitter", "I've got him by the satchel now".
Proceed at own peril!!!!

Actually, my boat (with the purple) was the one that got the "Killer boat man", and "Wow that is a really nice boat" comments and oggling from a big group of college aged co-eds while 30 yards away the brand spanking new Super Air was totally ignored
(actually, I was kinda staring at the super air)

Yeah, I'm just messing with you guys, I like the purple boats (Kevin's SAN is awesome). I used to give a buddy a load of $#!T for having a purple boat, that was my go to dig.
Jonathan, yep.

Thought something was familiar with you.
“And the Lord sayeth, ‘You will recognize the Beast by its mark ...‘ “ or something like that.
Just messing. I remember Big Heavy making some funny funny contributions in the past ... often times, extraordinarily smart a$$ ... but funny nonetheless (if I weren’t the target).

"Rob, I'm sorry if thats your boat, but it looks like Martha Stewart had a baby with a tattoo artist and then let it puke all over that boat." - I think that's funny stuff, Ben. Really.
Yah, it is my boat. I like it. It doesn't look like every other boat on the lake. Some people like it and some don't, and that's cool by me. When I get tired of the wrap, I will probably pull it off. That's one great thing about wraps.
At least you took the time to be creative with your criticism, and I gotta give you props for that. Thanks for the laugh. Rob

maybe its coincidence and maybe not, but the recent transworldwake / malibu e news letter had a little section on color customization. one of the squares of color on the thumbnail pic has purple.

Here is the way Brian Grubbs Malibu was built... he has had purple (black iris) on his boats for a while... and it always looks good!
