Mark ~~ I have been meaning to post up about Wakeology. It's a local company out of SLC, UT started by a couple of guys that love the sport. It's a 100% rider owned and operated and looking to compete in the Market for wake gear. They're coming out with all new products for 2010 that you will start to see in competition this coming season. Check out www.wakeology.com and click on "ABOUT" for the full story.
I myself just joined the team and cant wait to get to know everyone. It's going to be great to be a voice for riders, discussing likes and dislikes about Wakeology products. Let me know if there is any specific questions that you would like to know about the gear.

09 Wakeology 143 with LF CT Shanes...

They've been around for a while. I joined their facebook group about a year and a half ago. They're stuff looks pretty nice. Last I heard they were working on a team video. They were saying it was going to be a big budget production. I don't know anyone in particular on their team that really stood out.

Their square logo reminds me of the CWB logo.

Either way, tough time to upstarts, but I wish them the best!

Interesting, its always cool to hear about new board companies. I like the mission statement but maybe needs a bit more information about the board itself? Like what sets it apart from all the other boards and brands?

Anyways best of luck to you guys

I saw a post with pictures on here one day. Seems like one of the guys was riding a Wakeology and he had style for days. That was the first I had heard of them. Seems like the riding was in Texas.

thanks guys, figured i would chime in a bit. i have been riding for wakeology a lil over a year now. the shape you see here is our first and is a great board for anybody to ride. i say it is a mix of a premier and absolute, it is going to be more of an all around shape, some of you will call it a boat board. we are working hard at new shapes for 2010, there will be a 3 stage, a flex and a rail board. we are also in the process of a binding line. 2009 was a year to really get the name out and2010 will be the same plus a lil more. full brand will launch late 2010 early 2011. we have been updating the website lately as well as the blog, check out wakeology.com and click blog.

ha.......i looked at it and thought it looks like a pretty nice cable board. Not to wide so I assume it will sit in the water nice for hard edging? and a nice smooth gimick free underside. looks a bit like a loose double up royal. is it a continuouse rocker? how much rocker? do you have any plans for export?

Ok probably going to get hammered for this but some ones daddy has a LOT of money. Probably just jealous. I love the idea of small companies battling the establishment not too long ago RONIX was one of those.

I like the look of some of the '10 boards shown on the website.
The bindings look nice too. Looks very similar to the Gator Gonzalez bindings. http://www.wakeworld.com/boots/getboot10.asp?ProductID=4601
I dig the look. The Gonzalez' were super light and pretty comfy, I assume these will be too. Only draw back to the Gator boots for me was heel lift.

yea they dont look very similar they look exactly the same. same overlays and everything.

probably just an artistic rendering like the boards are. though it looks like a photo of the actual product it is probably photoshopped gator boot... either that or someone is REALLY good at laying the laces and stuff to look EXACTLY alike.

Josh, you know anything about the 2010 line that you can pre order now as far as the rocker, fin configuration and so forth? Can't find any info on the website on these. Also, any chance the flex board will be out this year?
Old     (downfortheride)      Join Date: Jun 2005 Location: SLC, UT 5600'       01-15-2010, 7:27 PM Reply
Hey guys I'm a little behind and just finding out the 2010 product today. I'm a lot newer to the company so it finally rolls down hill to me. As soon as I see it or I get it sent to me I will post up. The only word I have right now is the Sick Transits are a Hybrid 3 stage and the Stoke's are a full on 3 stage rocker. As far as fins I think it's two moulded with an option third in the middle on both series, but don't quote me on that yet.
I will have to find out if they bought the rights to the Gonzalez binding since the pics are the same boot. But damn does that Wakeology boot looks super sick. I did suggest to make the boot in a two lace system for better lock down.

PS
I have my eye on the Sick Transit Limited 140!

Damn, haven't seen Jonathan Nadolski around in a LONG time. Still has some skills I see. Who's the kid who does the tail batwing

man i just had tosend the prototype shapes back to salt lake today :-( The 2010 line is sick!! kyle, the tail wing is me one of my favorite tricks to throw.

Jake, can you tell us a little more about the shape for the 2010 boards as far as rocker types, rocker lengths, widths, edges, etc,? Give us your thoughts on how the boards ride. There's not much information on the website. Any help would be appreciated. Very interested in the boards, but I just can't tell that much about them.
Old     (lfxstar)      Join Date: Jul 2001       01-19-2010, 3:56 AM Reply
Jake it's a sick trick. I've tried a few to no avail. The best way to describe what happened is I got "stuck" everytime and really took some nice diggers or bailed and strait dove in (which still always isn't fun). They just don't come down as naturally as a normal batwing for me, I don't know why.

By the look of Rob Mapp's facebook, he is a new member of the team. If anyone has had the pleasure of watching Rob ride, he goes the biggest of any rider in the world. No questions asked, no competition. If Wakeology wants to find out how strong their boards are, Rob's the guy to test them out on. The best way to describe Rob is a combo of Diego and Nick Davies. He is as tech as they come, doesn't fall, and goes bigger than anyone. With the new spinning craze, Rob completely revamped his style to fit the mold and it was no problem for him at all. I've seen him do a hs bs 5 cable high traveling probably 60 feet in length and stick it like he was doing an Ollie backside 180.

Ya jonathon is still around. I have been lucky enough to add him to my crew down in indianapolis during the summer. The kid seems to pull stuff out of his A** on a regular basis its awesome. He hit a crow-5 behind my boat one day last fall that was nuts. He claimed he hadnt hit that one in like 4 years... He has been on the wakeology when he is with us and seems to love it; but he rips any board hes on.

Kyle completely different approach than a normal wing, I take the hardest toe edge in I can and grab the tail and pull it with my arm as well as thrust my hips to help get it out as far as possible. Taking it to fakie is one of the sickest feelings on a wb, I'm going to attempt to take it to 3 in the very near future.
Wakemania, the shape I was riding is a hybrd 3 stage, pretty similiar to the ronix mana that I used to ride. It came with 1.5 inch fins but that was a lol too tight for my liking. Finless was too loose. .8s were just right. It's not really slow or fast, super predictable consistant pop everytime which is a huge plus in my book! Super smooth transition from edge to edge.

Jake ~~ That Sick Transit sounds right up my ally, I'm all for the predictable consistent pop!

This team is stacked with some really serious talent, I can't wait to be in the boat and watch all of these guys ride. I'm still waiting on Wakeology to send me the specs of the boards and I will post them up.
Old     (wakemania)      Join Date: Sep 2008       01-20-2010, 8:44 AM Reply
Jake, thanks for your input, can you order the board with smaller fins? I had to change out the Ibex fins for the smaller .7 A wings.

Josh, it will be nice to see the specs. Hope you can get those posted.

I like the bindings also, but I currently ride a size 13 in my Company binding. Any chance on getting something bigger than a size 11?

Do either of you have any input on the way the 3 stage board (Stoke) rides?

Thanks. Sorry for all the questions.

I ride the 08 gonz bindings and the are a 2 lace system. I never noticed the single lace on the 09'. BTW I love em'.

OK, now I've got to know if the Wakeology binding will be a one or two lace system. I guess it won't matter if the largest size is an 11.

Apparently I have the 09 ltd Gonz bindings. Same stuff, i think. 2 lace though, black n white.

If they are the same boots, do try to find a different source for the lacelocks. The factory ones blow.
