We've all been around those boats, you know, the beautiful ones that are always in and out of the shop. I have a friend with an 04 X2 that happens to be one of these. He's fed up with it, and looking to get out of it. I offered to help him sell it, but don't know what to ask for it, other than looking at NADA - Any idea's what we should ask for it, I was thinking 34

If it is currently all ok, sell it for whatever a 04 X-2 sells for. Only 1 I see on boattrader and none on OI.

Its at $38,500 so you should be good at 34K. Depending on condition and options. I would't sell for any less due to the "gremlins". Might be perfect for the new owner, you just never know. I have had boats I fought everytime I used them. Then sold them and the new owner never had a problem and vise versa.

seeing as an 04 x2 is the same as an 06 and up x1 i dont think you can get that for it. maybe you can but an 07 x1 just went for 21.6k on ebay 2 days ago with 170 hours. and an 06 x1 just south of me just went for 25k with 260 hours. so to think you can get 34 is a mighty high bid on a boat that is considerably older than both of these.

there is also an 06 x1 i saw for right around 34k as well. so i think mid 20s will get it sold quickly ... also terrible time of year to sell unless you want to take a big hit ... so probably 20-25k will get it off his hands. if he wants to sit on it til spring time/early summer he may be able to get 30-32 out of it.

^ Jhartt is on crack. 2000 xstars still go for 20+ at this time of year. If it is pristine and just has some issue, I would say 30 should be easy money.

The other component of this is, there is a lack of supply of good 2000s xstar/x2/x1 and superairs alike at this time of year. I think 30-34 should get some interest.

Delta is right I have an 02 xstar and no way I would sell it for 20-25. That boat will sell QUICK!!! Those x1s were stolen at those prices!!!

there is a 2005 SANTE 210 in NC right now advertised at 28k... i think we are going to start seeing market saturation

There are deals out there sure, but middle of summer, people are still buying... Wait til October and there will be more stuff on the market. I would call the market far from saturated.

Now, this isn't to mean that I think an average 2000 xstar is worth 20-25, I would only pay 18-20 and those deals can be had, but currently, they are selling for higher. Theres an 02 Xstar on OI asking 32... an 05 SANTE for 28 is a great price if its in good shape with less than 800 hours.

Btw, I have a broken leg, so I have had plenty of time to cruise CL and OI and study the market so I know what and where to look when I will be ready to buy for next summer haha. Dork for sure. being stuck inside SUCKS

I guess its all about finding the buyer, but I doubt you'll get much more than 27-28 for it. I sold my 03' X-2 in June for 25k. NADA's Excellent condition rating(or whatever it is) said 29. Listed it at 28 and didn't get any serious bites. Dropped it to 26 and only had 3-4 bites, and that was beginning of summer with no inventory out there in Sac. Literally not one comparable boat.

^^^ boom and this isnt the middle of summer everywhere. To me this is prime look for what you want to buy time. only a month left in some of the colder places. i'm semi in your boat delta. i have been scouring for a while with the intent to buy this time next year or the following year. and while most vdrives can sell over 20k the difference in a 2007 and a 2000 is only a few thousand most of the time. especially on the X1 and X2's with the old star hull. these boats were price point boats offered at 40k. and the avg boat shopper sees "xstar" and doesnt really know what the history of the X1 or X2 so the market is much much smaller for these boats.

Oh - and if I could pick it up for 21 - I'd buy the thing and try to flip it in the spring! He doesn't have a problem holding it until next year, so we'll see what happens.

The average boat shopper sees "MASTERCRAFT" and so the market is much much higher...

If 34 is where he wants to start..try it. I wouldn't pay to list it anywhere if it is indeed high. Try it on the typical free listing places and see if you get any bites. Never hurts to try.

The 07 X1 is a scam (99% sure). I talked to the seller on the phone. He had 2 auctions running for it. He said he is in Palo Alto in the auction, then on the phone he said the boat is in texas, and he lives in Tracy. He said it was his brothers boat and he "did competitions". he said he doesn't have the title, and a bill of sale only. I call BS.

LOL - yeah. But Jhart won't admit it. I agree with wakeboard11. He is on crack and he is drinking MB coolaid. Typical.

I think he actually posted MB like three times in a row in one thread. Maybe he is a saleman.(a bad one)
