Hey guys, I have been slowly working on my stereo and have been trying to save money to get some good sound. I replaced my in boat speakers with Polk DB691 6x9 speakers in the factory rear holes (had to enlarge holes) and two DB651 6.5's in the open bow holes. Let me tell ya for under $100 shipped to my house those 6x9's sounds amazing for the money. Loud and clear w/some noticable bass. I have not built a box for my sub yet but after adding the 6x9's I feel I could hold off without dissapointment. I plan on buying the same speakers in pre-built cans for the tower. I know lots of you run the higher end bullets and what not and Im sure they sound great. But for those who cant get themselves to spend that kind of cash I figure four of those 6x9's up there will rock pretty nicely and then with one 12" sub my system I think should be impressive (at least to me and my buds).
I just wanted to share this for the folks who are on a budget, oh ya and they are marine rated.
When Im all done I will post some pics.

What are you using for stereo and amp?

Sony marine stereo, dont know the model off hand, its nothing super special though. I think it is 50 watts to each speaker off the deck. I havent hooked them up to an amp yet...soon though. They sound pretty good right now and cant wait to see how much better they will sound with an amp. I ended up putting two DB691's in the back and two DB651's in the front. For four speakers I am impressed with the sound.
