1992 Supra Mariah...Whats the word on these?

Well, I want to get a inboard. And at a local dealer we found a 1992 Supra Mariah. Whats the story on these? Whats the wake like? Slalom and wakeoard wake?

Anyone run one of these? any problems?
Are low hours on a old boat not good?

We would be trading a 06' Sea Ray 175 sport.(375hours) (straight trade)

Have a friend with one. OK wake for slalom skiing. Sh*t wake for boarding unless your gonna add alot of weight. Plenty of places to put em but what a cluster f*ck to get around.

that seems like lots of money for a boat that old. don't know how much trust i would put in that hour meter as well. i had a 1986 supra comp, and all i can say - if it has wood stringers run!

As far as I can tell it books out for under $10k. So it would be way overpriced.

Should be fiberglass strngers. I know mid 93 was when they went to 100% no wood and i think the last piece to be changed was the seat bases and some parts to the dog house.

Nice boat there are a few owners here and on wakeboarder.com. Supras have a wide body and deep keel so they generally need a bit more weight to throw a wake. But they will! The only big difference between these and the SunSports is the Mariah has a slightly lower bow more like a Supra Comp. But it's still a higher bow than plenty of other inboards of the era. I have an 87 SunSport and love it. WakeMikey on wb.com has my pics.

I have a 92 mariah... I love my boat!!! I put a ballast in the bow, and one under the rear seat. It throws a pretty nice wake. somewhere around 600-700 lbs in the front and the same in the rear. We ride with 4 to 5 people, it throws a wake just as good as my buddies 23ft? moomba. I like the setup, its an older boat, but it does the job without spending 30,000. Good Luck

I wanna trade my 86 nautique for a supra mariah. But the times arent right and the wallet is tight SON.

If i had to do it all over again id get a Supra Mariah over a nautique for the space. Simple as that. Same motor options as a nautique, similar wake characteristics if you weigh the supra right, and can fit atleast 10 chicks instead of mine that fits like 6

also a Saltare is another great option, usually came with a 454 in it, more space, more weight, more wake

A 1992 with only 296 hours? Seems to low.

That's only 18 hours a year. This things engine might be a rust bucket if its been sitting in someones yard for 16 years not being used.

ehhh ya never know about the engine till you start running her. If everythings sealed off pretty good, a fresh tank of gas, new plugs, blah blah blah stuff she might turn over and be a beauty. But it could be nothing more than a mess under there.

My biggest concern when it comes to the hours is if it has only been used that many hours EVER, theres gonna be water in the stringers and thats never good

Now just to find a v-drive with a good slalom wake.

Theres a 91 model mariah at knoxville water sports in knoxville tn for 9K that is in as good of condition if not better you may want to look them up. The mariah is a great boat you wont be disappointed.

So now you're going to spend $25000 instead of $8000??? What happened?

Get the Mariah dump $1200 +/- in it for automatic ballast and a decent stereo system and you'll have yourself a damn good setup
