Walt, which car was your son driving? We used to bracket race at the original Baylands raceway in Fremont in the early 70's. Grudge night it was called back then. Speaking of "back in the day" Randy, did you buy that El Camino new? Redbull girls shot: that's what I'm talking about! (the lens not the girls)

Rich, He's in the Blue Honda. I knew Baylands well. I use to race my Suki GS750 there all the time on grudge night. I also ran my 71 Nova (Buick 430) there. It was fun to leave the hood open and watch people do a double take when they walked by and looked at the engine. Baylands was great and it was sad to see it close.

Randy, You should try those shots on a full moon. I went up to the lake to due some work today and saw this guy. I was hoping it was a Golden but I think it's a juvenile Bald Eagle. I've made several attempts at shooting birds of prey and the 70-200 just doesn't cut it most of the time. They seem to have a comfort zone thats out of range for a 200mm most of the time. Not to say it can't be done but it's tough. Rich, Are you ready to off your 400mm ? This is a heavy crop.

Thanks Walt, i will give it a try next full moon. It's only about 45 minutes from home. Nice shot of the eagle! Do you have a 1.4 extender?

Walt, the dents in that green gasstank are making me cry. Awesome shots though. Are they good enough/are you brave enough to get an upward shot from the center of a circle wheelie?

No, I was actually hesistant to post my pictures. Someone told me to watch out for some websites can take credit for your pictures. Is there a copyright agreement for DP Review? I do want to try to do those sometimes. I look at a lot of the pictures on there for inspiration!

Some photos I took this past weekend while camping at Lake Del Valle in Livermore... rented a 24mm 1.4L lens to play around with. Worked well for low light shots and really well for wine tasting shots. A friend of mine is taking a b/w photography class and had to shoot pictures to show motion, so he had to shoot a photo with the object in focus and the background blurry, then take a photo with the background in focus and the moving object blurry. I gave it a shot with him and remembered how tough it was to pan with motion (105mm @ f22, 1/15th, ISO 50). I think I got 3 good ones out of 20...yikes! haha (Message edited by scott_a on April 23, 2009)
